I tried Matrix Biolage and really liked it. Stopped using it because my stylist switched to a different salon brand from Matrix. Now I use Joico detangler because it is easier to find for me. Like the Biolage though. Looking forward to your findings.
I went to the Beauty Supply store today and asked for "detanglers". I got a weird look but I walked out with a handful of new detanglers/leavein conditioners to try.
I just washed my hair and am getting ready to try Biolage Daily Leave-In Tonic with detangling properties. It is by Matrix and I have never tried this product before. The consultant at the store got into a bit of a "discussion" about what was the best detangler/leave-in conditioner.
One of the consultants insisted that iso Nourishing was better and another clerk was adament about Matrix instacure leave-in. I also have Edwin Paul`s detangler/leave-in and my old standbys Aveda Curessence and ARTec Kiwi. So I am off to the detanglering wars and will fill you all in.
If anyone has used any of these products I would love feedback.
Best wishes, Karen

Karen, I use the Redken Color Extend Shampoo and Conditioner. I love it. In May of this year I couldn`t wait for an appt. to get my hair highlighted, so I asked my friend to do it. It turned out paper white!! It was terrible. My hair is naturally a dirty blonde color and I wanted golden highlights. Well after I saw the white color, I tried two more Loreal products from Wal-Mart(an all night store) and put these two other colors on within 12 hours. It turned out a terrible ashy light blonde color. I then went to my regular stylist to see if she could fix it. She used Redken shades, but it turned orange within 1 week. I tried this 3 more times with the same results, so I bit the bullet and went to a new stylist that is reknowned for her color jobs but is expensive. This was in September and she perfected the color and that is also when I started using the color extend shampoo line and Anti-Snap. She highlighted and low-lighted to help me get back to a natural looking color using foil. It looks great now and I just went back for more high/low lights. My I wash my hair every other day and it seems to be doing great with these products, where as before this, I was contemplating cutting it short and starting over again. I am on a mission to grow my hair out to about mid-back and that would have been a terrible set back!! haha.. My hair is medium texture and straight. Let me know if you have any other ideas, I don`t use a deep conditioner, do you have any suggestions on that? I have never used any of the color shampoos that deposit color, due to what I mentioned above. I don`t want to interfere now that I have a good color!!
Thanks for sharing about the Redken AntiSnap. I have a question for you....do you ever experiment with any of the color shampoos? Also, have you tried any of the Redken deep conditioning products? I would love to hear your thoughts if you have.
Best wishes & Happy Holidays. Karen

I use Redken AntiSnap leave in conditioner for my hair. I have some color damage from the summer and shoulder length hair. It works wonders for the ends of my hair. It also smells great. I can`t find Aveda products anywhere, and most salons carry Redken products in my area.
Please let me know if you find other leavein conditioners or detanglers that you like. I am always looking for good stuff to try and then evaluate for both my hair and to help others here at HairTalk.
I had the unfortunate experience of going into a beauty supply store here in Dallas and asking them for a conditioning shampoo and rinse out that was good for thick, wavy, coarse, highlighted hair, like mine. The consultant raved about iso Reviving Shampoo and Recovery Treatment. She said I would LOVE IT.
Well I tried it several times and each time my hair got drier and drier. Finally I abandoned the product after 7 tries. It did not work at all for me. I know that iso is a good product but not for my type of hair.
I am going to write up a review of the product and then pass it on to someone at HairBoutique.com that has different hair to see what they think.
The consultant did tell me I could bring it back if it didn`t work but I used a good amount so I will just add it to our evaluation pile along with my 73 other current bottles of product sitting by my desk. :-)
Also, if anyone else reading this can suggest some good detanglers or leave in conditioners, I would love to hear about them and the type of hair you have.
Happy Holidays to all of you.
Best wishes, Karen
PS. I never take time off and will be here over the Holidays so please post if you are bored. I love to see new posts. It keeps my mind buzzing. So thanks to all in advance.

I have the best luck with Aveda Curessence spray detangler. It is awesome. I just spritz a bunch around my hair and use my fingers to "fingerpick" the hair a little, blow dry my bangs...only my bangs...and viola, my hair is detangled. Don`t forget that I have thick, naturally dry, highlighted and naturally wavy hair. So this is no small deal. I wrap my damp hair into a big fat bun, stick in some hairsticks and let it airdry. About 4 hours later it is dry and totally non-frizzy. Soft and lots of cool loose waves. :-)
I also use Aveda Elixer when I am going to blow dry my whole head. It is more of a leave in conditioner but works great at protecting my hair from the heat of the hairdryer.
I really like Joico`s detangler. It is more reasonable then the Aveda and I like to alternate between a couple of detanglers if I am not in a testing phase.
For a fabulous leave-in conditioner I use the Aveda Curessence detangler and then layer on a tiny blob of Phytologie #7 or #9 leave in conditioner. It is awesome stuff. It is important to use JUST a tiny bit. Too much and your hair will feel borderline greasy. Just massage it into the palms of your hands and then wipe it down over your damp hair. I LOVE that stuff.
I also use Edwin Paul Leave In Conditioner and the Smoothing Lotion when I am going to blow dry. They act as a great conditioner and then de-frizzer. My hair is smooth as silk.
I used the Edwin Paul Leave In Conditioner and the Smoothing Lotion with Edwin Paul Luxury Shampoo and Deep Conditioner the day I had my photo taken for the recent Dallas Morning News article. I also "wiped" a tiny bit of shine on my hair. The reporter for the Dallas Morning News thought I had naturally straight hair. When I told her it was very wavy when I didn`t staighten it, she could not believe it. She thought I had it chemically straightened, which I didn`t, but the combo of the Leave-In and the Smoothing Lotion made my hair stick straight.
I also love Aveda Confixer as a type of leave in conditioner. Some people would say it is more of a thickening product but I find it adds volume and conditions at the same time.
The only problem with Aveda is that it is usually very expensive and hard to find. While I like ARTec I have not found any of their detanglers to really work for me. I have great luck with just about all the Edwin Paul products although I don`t use the Classic shampoo much because it is a product that is good for clarifying.
When I want to clarify I will use the KnottyBoy shampoo. It is a fabulous shampoo for removing gunk and I just love how it feels on my hair. Even though I don`t have dreadlocks, I still love that shampoo.
Hope that helps AggiePam. If you have more questions, please let me know.
