I am having a real problem. I used to do home hair color, but then decided to stop. Now I am stuck with really bad roots. Plus the ends are a real ugly copper color. Is there any way to fix this? Is a professional the only way to go here, or should I just give up and color it at home?

Hi,

I guess you have to ask yourself how badly your want your hair fixed. I personally would recommend that you find a good colorist and have them help you get back to where you want to be. That is just my personal thoughts. However, if you want to try at home I would suggest that you do with a good semi-perm color that fades over time. That should help balance your ends and your roots. I would suggest a color that is 1-2 shades darker than your current color to help every everything out.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes,
Karen

Ok, you can either Strip your hair (which you have to get a professional to do it) and its really damaging to your hair, or dye your hair, but dye it as close to your nature colour as possible (thats what I"m doing). You won`t really notice the roots (depending on how close to your natural colour you get) this way is alot healthier than stripping! Hope all goes well!
