Well you see, I have a lot of wiggle room because my hair is already blonde, so the lighter bits are less noticeable in most places. But yes, I find it quite east just to paint them on where I please. I wouldn't try it myself on dark hair because I would be afraid the bleach wouldn't lift it all the way blonde, and also any mistakes would be terribly noticeable.

This is a relatively new method of highlighting, and it's not all that easy to find a hair dresser who is trained in the field.

The bleach is applied to the head at the discretion of the stylist, as you said Gisele has her hair dyed this way, along with stars such as Ashlee Simpson. It is designed to create natural looking, sun bleached highlights that grow out with out a noticable root.

In my recent experimenting with my own highlights I have found this is quite fun (and easy) to do, and I especially need it as my ends are slighting darker than my roots.

Perhaps ask your stylist if they've had any experience with it, and if so give it a go!

Hi All,

For awhile I wanted to go brunette, hence the name PerfectBrunette. I was trying to find the perfect shade of brunette color at the time. Now, I want to go blond. I sort of like highlights better than all over color and have successfully gone blond that way by doing lots of higlights.

However, I've heard about this new technique called balayage where they apply the highlights free form without foils and the hair is lightened more towards the bottom than the top.

Have any of you tried this? What were the results? I love the look of Giselle's hair where it's highlighted on the bottom only and I hate how highlights can look streaky, especially when you pull your hair back.

Any advice or info on balayage would be super cool. Thanks.
