Second So.Cap installation

Hi Everyone.

I've never posted before but wanted first to thank all of you that have contributed to this forum.  I have learned a lot about hair extensions from reading many of the comments here.

I really just want to introduce myself and tell a little bit about my experience with So.Cap. 

I've tried to follow the advice of many of you here who have graciously posted here and as a result feel that I was able to take good care of my extensions.

I had my first install done in mid Oct., 2007 and kept them in 4 months.  I was quite nervous about leaving them in that long after reading some of the comments.  I am trying to grow my hair out from a pretty short length.  I have very strong healthy hair of a dark color so I've never had any bleach in my hair.  The first install took 10 bundles and all day to install.


The last 3-4 weeks of the first install did make me a bit nervous as I didn't know if I would find a mess upon removal or not.  I would like to say it was a very successful uninstall.  The bonds slipped right out , without any tugging and the tangles were mostly eliminated with very little combing out.   My hair had grown quite a bit and felt nice and thick.  Because I had read here about what to expect and look for, I was quite pleased with the results. 

I now have my second set in and it looks great.  They used 9 bundles this time and am hoping that I will only need to have extensions one more time after this.  I am also only going to leave this in for 3 months before removing.

Thanks for the welcome.  One thing mentioned that contradicts what I've read on the forum is the use of conditioners throughout the whole head.  I mentioned to the extensionist, who is also the salon owner, that I hadn't conditioned my own hair since this all began.  I've used a daily conditioner on the extension hair (below the bonds) but never on my natural hair. 

The products that I use to shampoo and condition my hair are by Devine.  There is also a deep conditioner that I use once or twice a week,  Again only below the bonds. 

She told me that it was fine to use the deep conditioner once a week and all over.  And it was OK for the daily conditioner if it got on the bonds occasionally.  She said they were sealed pretty tightly.

Thanks for the reply.  I just got to thinking about a few things.  When I had the first install my hair was really short.  I am sure with any type of fusion the bonds are attached within approximately 1/2" from the scalp (?).  As my hair grew out I never conditioned it, but when I stop to think about that, the hair that grew was pretty "new" hair.  You are right, you don't need to condition the scalp. 

I would like to occasionally condition the hair that is on the top of my head, that covers the bonds.

My bonds still start close to the top of my head.  The extensionist added enough bonds so that the area where my real hair stops you couldn't see the line.  In other words, eliminates the "mullet" effect.

For some reason I am under the impression there are 25 strands in a bundle of So.Cap hair.  ????
