QuoteReplyTopic: Help with removing blonde hair =( Posted: March 02 2008 at 3:41am
I'm in a dillema. I dyed my mousy brown hair to a light shade of blonde, and it was such a huge mistake as it doen't suit me as I would of liked it too. It took 4 years to out grow my last dye
I was wondering if thier are any products or home remedies that can remove the blonde dye from my hair to return it to its natual colour. And I don't want to re-dye my hair again as I feel dyed hair feels 'fake'. Thanks in advanced

Lightening hair requires lifting the hair natural (or artifical) pigment. This process cannot be reversed, unfortunately.
There is a few things you can do to darken the colour without commiting to permanently dye it. Semi and demi permanent dyes (Colour Touch by Wella is the absolute best, imo) and there's also Fanci-Ful rinses which wash out with shampoo (you just put them in wet hair after you wash it) in the shade of brown you like.
Don't give up on the blonde too soon. I look horrid with yellow blonde hair (as does everyone) or hair with too many gold tones. It just doesn't suit me. However, I love my hair when I have a minky beige toner on it, or a platinum blonde toner. You may not have lightened it past the yellow stage to the frozen butter stage. Try Color Touch or Fanci-ful in White Minx or Beige Blonde.
