That is how long I thought a midlength bob would be somewhere between chin and shoulder length.

My face shape is oval and
I have thick naturally wavy light brown hair.
My hair is currently mid-back length.

I`m thinking about cutting my hair to a inch or two above the shoulders, with cheekbone length bangs.

I would say a midlength bob would be anywhere between chin and shoulder length. Go longer (past the chin) if your face is round and/or full.
