Good question. It is often advised to never comb out your wet hair. I often wait a few minutes afterwards and then I comb starting at the bottom going up. If you try to comb it when it is wet the hair will stretch and break. I find for myself that I cannot comb my hair when it is dry or it will also break. If I have time I tend to spray my hair and then comb it. With a comb we have a bit more control but at times I prefer a good brush. Not that I am comparing dogs to us but it is the same advice that breaders give to people who own long hair dogs which I have throughly decipline myself to do with my own show dog. They say that brushing or combing dry hair is very damaging. I find that is very true for myself.
The problem that we all have is to find a good brush. I think that is the most difficult mission. I also find that even the stylist have this problem at times as I now bring my own brush to the salon. Now I would be very curious to learn if the answers are diffierent because of their hair texture. I have also heard about this dry brushing and if I waited for such a thing I would be firstly walking around with this huge rat ness in my hair lol
