Good morning Ladies,

Well even after washing and conditioning tangles.  I even added a moisturizer and more tangles.

And I noticed it would get more tangled after flat ironing.

So I had to do my 3 min Bleach bath and what a beauty.

No more tangles for me.  The hair is still thick like I like it but I am tangle free.

I think if I would have permed it, it would not have reduced the tangling.

Now my question is, should I do Silicon Mix for this KS?

I mean is it really logical to do?

I have started using Olive Oil on my ends because this hair gets dry quickly.  And it dislikes the light kemi oil I use.

This KS LF has a mind of it's own, but I am slowing learning what she like and dislikes!  So any help would be appreicated.

it appears that texture is diffcult like needing a lot of attention.. people are really having to tame them as it appears.. altho i don't have one ab/c i tend to stay away from high maintenance hair, which curly's and the kinky straights are, eveb tho its dry and kinky like AA hair, its really not.. they tend to shed more b/c of the process to make them kinky, and the texture has a lot to do wtih that.. i think a periodic AVC rinse would help b/c a lot of product build up makes it tangle too.. and people use a lot of product trying to tame it.. i would think a little silicon mix and like what i did with my virgin chinese in the thread i started about Breh's conditioner tip might help too..

I have  my holly ks on right now..i have washed and conditioned it twice and no tangles..i use SM on it and the unit is so lovely....so im not sure why you encoutered so much tangling. This unit is great...doesnt at all get tangly. the only reason i had issues was bcz i was so big so i flattened it a bit but no tangling for me...all i did was use SM shampoo and then the conditioner, i left it in a baggie for about 4 hours and then sprayed tht simple silky on it its a light silicon spray(suggested by someone on the board) and let it air dry, u wouldnt believe how lovely it came out....

Heaven Lei, silicon spray? Where did you purchase it from?  When you sprayed the unit in the bag, how many times did you have to do it to avoid the unit being too oily/greasy?

well i left the SM conditioner sit on the unit in the baggie for like 4 hrs then i rinsed out the SM conditioner and put the unit on the wig head then i sprayed it w/ that silicon spray its called simply stylin(http://shop.simplystylinhair.com/main.sc)...its really light but wrks great...not oily or greasy at all but gives the unit bounce and shine and makes it so soft.....

I noticed with the KS, you cannot use allot of product.  If you do, you get tangles. I wash mine with Creme of Nature. After i wash it, I spray it with my Simply Stylin Sillicon spray.  Set it with my magnetic rollers, and she is good to go.

OK...LovelyL, how about this 3 min bleach bath? does that mean you soak the hair in bleach and ammonia for three minutes each? This is something new to me!

OH, and this may seem waaaay out there, but Mokipono (who posts often on the hair extensions threads) suggested for tangles to soak the hair in silicone serum (not Silicon mix) of your choice and heat it up using blow dryer or microwave. Rinse well. I also think your hair might do well with a protein treatment, since the strands sound like they need some strength.

thankfully, I haven't had to do the BB on my KS just yet.  I use Dove shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair, along with Dove Daily Moisturizing Mist before I put a few braids in in before bed.  When I take the braids down in the morning, it looks nice and kinky/wavy and it's just beautiful.   My unit was a 1b, but I added hilights to in in color #4 and #6 and it took perfectly.  As a matter of fact, I don't think shedding will be a problem because the hair is so dense and thick, it could stant to lose a few strands!  They are extra work, I'll admit that.  But I am really loving my KSSmile

I don't know if they are still doing it, but I got a bottle of the Simply Stylin free just for signing up on their website.  I'm using the SM on my KS and putting a LITTLE JFrieda Frizz Ease on it while it's damp.  It's behaving perfectly!
