QuoteReplyTopic: must do something... dreads? Posted: November 03 2001 at 12:18pm
This past summer, i hacked my hair off. not all of it, but several inches. about 12, to be exact ::shudders:: anyway, I had no choice, really. my hair was dry and.. okay, back to the point. now it`s short. slightly above chin level. I`m too lazy to deal with it in the morning and using the blowdryer or anything, so I was thinking of temporary dreads that I only have to redo ever couple of days. what`s the best way to get dreads that last about 3-5 days?

Twist your hair and then wrap it on small rods. Use small partings (no more than one square inch). The results should be what you are looking for. DO NOT put beeswax on your dreads or you may not be able to get it out. I have seen dreads cut off because of the wax. Not a good ending for your "temporary" dreads. However, I have HEARD of using a warm clothes iron and waxpaper to remove the wax without cutting the hair off. Caution is obviously called for. Good luck!
