Thx for keeping us updated on that product. It sounds like a good thing but still probably falls a short of being a miracle.
Those protein treatments are great but boy do they leave your hair screaming for hydration.

Oh I'm so glad you had your latte! LOL It helps to pass the time, eh?

Yeah, it's not a miracle product (unlike Emergencee and Grund) but I have a feeling it does help to repair damaged hair. You are so right about the hydration! You absolutely HAVE to moisturize after a protein treatment or don't bother! Tongue

You are so welcome! The product is technically supposed to 'reconstruct' damaged hair (severely damaged). It is kind of like a protein treatment, but I think they use plastics (co-polymers). What I was thinking is that when my blonde extensions get worn, I want to re-apply this product and see if they feel different or like new! Supposedly it's something like this that vendors use to coat weaving hair. Smile

Hmm. I think some hair is coated in silicone and some isn’t regardless of if it’s for weaving, fusion, pre-tipped or whatever. It’s my main complaint with a LOT of extension hair. The reason for the coating is to add weight to the hair so they can sell less for more money and also, it gives damaged or processed hair a silky, shiny, healthy look at purchase. Then once you wash that layer of silicone off, the hair begins to tangle, matt, and lose sheen.

I was able to find virgin, non coated hair on the market but it is more expensive however it lasts and lasts! I’m wearing hair that is nearly a year old now.

Krimsa, you make a really good point there. Some hair appears to be coated and some not. BUT, just because it IS coated does not mean it is bad hair. In fact, hair that is not coated or virgin hair can be more difficult to deal with and style than processed hair. It's all in your experience with hair and how much effort you want to put into it. Whether my hair has a coating or not, after a few washings I always deep condition it and treat it very special! Tongue

Of course. I just didn’t think you meant ONLY weaving hair was treated with silicone because a LOT of hair is. Nearly every type I have worn has been coated with silicone except the virgin. No I was not implying it was bad hair, just that silicone is used to mask damage very often or processing. I wasn’t really sure if that was the intention of that product, to somehow try to "reinfuse" the hair with a silicone treatment. That was my question. Thanks.

Follow the instructions for Biolustre exactly, and you will see a difference.  I use biolustre on my hair and I treat all of the extension hair I buy.  It makes a world of difference in keeping extensions looking and feeling healthy, and keeps my hair from breaking.  If your hair has been subjected to a number of chemical processes... Biolustre is a miracle product!!  But do follow the Bioluster treatment with a professional conditioner.  Also... I mix about a teaspoon of Biolustre into a 16 oz bottle of shampoo for added protection.

Biolustre is heat activated, so sitting outside while relaxing probably did not provide the intensity of heat for the product to really penetrate your hair.  Also, it is critical that you get all of the risidual product out of your hair.

Getting off my soapbox now.. LOL...

Maybe it makes a difference if you use the whole kit? It's like four products, a shampoo that exfoliates the hair, the treatment that you let dry in the heat, the "regular" shampoo and the deep conditioner.

I bought the kit to I'll see how it works for me! ..But I want to try it on my hair only so I am waiting for the next take-downWink

I just saw this post about Biolustre on one of the other forums. It got some great reviews, especially for extremely damaged hair.

You are right; I really should have followed the instructions to the tee. I tend to break rules all the time!LOL It usually seems to work. next time, I'm going to be a good girl and do as I'm told: shampoo out the residual product & heat it properly with a blowdryer until completely dry. Imtabitha -- how many times do you shampoo after it has been dried? I'm curious to know what the standard amount is.

I also agree with the fact that you must follow this w/moisturizing conditioner -- which I did and always do. It makes a world of difference.

Frenchie: as long as you clarify your hair well before using Biolustre I don't see why you would need to use their specific shampoo. You want to make sure the hair is clean and free of product buildup and minerals. Maybe their shampoo is a chelator?

Moki: thanks for that thread post!
