Has anyone ever bought the ashy bohyme from Superhairfactory.com?

I was on the phone with them today and the guy, Alan, said that they updated their ashy color selection and the new ashy ring has 40 colors on it!

I only have the standard color ring, and wasn't even aware there was an 'ashy' line.  I guess I did see it on their site before, but I wasn't aware  it was a different line of colors.

Anyway, I ordered the ashy color ring and it should be here in a few days.

I'll let you know when I get the ring if it's truely different then the standard colors, which are usually on the gold side of the spectrum.

I remember seing this ashy bohyme a while ago. It sounds nice but it is also more expensive than regular bohyme right?
... I am still trying to find the cheapest place to buy "regular" bohyme so I don't know that I would want to pay more for the ashy line. Hard to say.
I just got a pack from gobunnys.com, and I noticed that the color 16 looked very different from the regular 16 I have always got, it was much ashier, the color was very very nice, the cut in the ends was more blunt and the thread of the handtied wefts was beige instead of the usual white thread.
I called the company, because it was my first time with them and I wanted to make sure it was some genuine bohyme, and the representative -a very nice guy- told me that they order directly from Bohyme and have the hair sent directly to the customer.
He also said that Bohyme slightly changed its products since the price increase. So my thought were either it's an old batch -no problem about it, the hair was still gorgeous- or maybe I just got the "new" shade 16, which is ashier and more natural looking than the more golden regular 16.

metalgirl, I think bohyme has made some changes to their colors period. I dont think its a different line at all. There has definitely been some changes. I am hearing that everyone who has bought Bohyme lately has seen differences. I have heard of ashier colors, differences in the threading, differences in the cut on the ends of the hair. I have personally seen some of these differences myself. I have just got in #22, #24, #27, #18, #16, #14, #10 & #2 and see some difference in all of these colors compared to the old color ring and the older stock that I have.

I believe I have this ring. Let me know if the color ring is silver when it arrives. Some colors are the same as the gold ring from Bohyme but there are some great ashy shades in there as well. I find that some of the colors I want from that ring are not available in hand tied wefts, which is the hair I like to work with. However, they do a great job of finding a color or matching a color for me that is very similar. I think that they also use a brand called Super Remi. Have you heard of it? I think it is very comparable to Bohyme.

Ahh, I checked out the superhairfactory website and I see the line you are talking about. It appears to be the same hair that ebonyline sells as Bohyme Blonde.

Metalgirl, do you deal with Bohyme directly? If I were you I would call them and talk to them about it. I asked my rep a long time ago about the Bohyme Blonde that ebonyline sells because I was curious about it. The rep really didnt have much to say about the Bohyme Blonde. I got the distint impression that she didnt care for it. Dont know if it was just a personal preference or just my interpretation, but I just got the opinion that the rep didnt think it was the same quality as the regular Bohyme line.

As for my first reply about the colors, it applies to the regular line of Bohyme. I am going to do some comparisons today but there are definitely some slight color differences in the new packages that I have recieved.

Sherrie, I think Bohyme does carry two different lines of Bohyme, the regular "gold" collection and the bohyme "blonde" or "ashy" line.
If the new regular bohyme colors are more on the ashy side than the "old" regular bohyme however, it might make this "ashy" line on Superhairfactory a bit irrelevant, who knows?

I posted this on HE 101 but I wanted to post it here too. Here are the answers I got from one of Bohymes reps when I called today:

Q #1. What is the difference from Bohymes regular 'gold' line and Ebonyline's Bohyme Blonde and superhairfactory's Bohyme Ashy Blonde lines?

A: There is none. There is no Bohyme Blonde line, There is no Bohyme Ashy Blonde line. It's whatever the distributor wishes to call it. They can make up their own colors, numbers or color descriptions. But these are just names the distributor chooses to give the products. Its the same Bohyme hair.

Q #2: Has Bohyme changed the colors, because I am seeing some slight variations of the colors?

A: No there has been no color changes, but you may see slight color variations depending on the dye lot/batch/processing.

Thanks for the info!

I talked with a Bohyme rep a few months ago to  set up an account to get wholesale prices.  It took several calls on my part to finally get someone to fax me the wholesale pricelist after I sent all my business info.  I was also having a language problem with that rep, he was Asian and didn't have a great understanding of English.

However I was very dissappointed that they give a lousy  wholesale discount and you have to buy I think it was at least 6 packages at a time.  Since I only use it on customers and myself and don't want to spend money on inventory, it doesn't make sense for me to hassle with ordering from them.

Anyway, I'm eager to see the new 'ashy' color ring.

Thanks!

Hey, Lots of Locks- what type of weave do you do?   I just looked at you website, it looks nice!

Thanks Metalgirl! I use a method similar to cybermane's flat weave using handtied wefts.

I got the ashy ring today and it is a black color ring.  However the colors look beautifully ashy and different from the other Bohyme ring I have.  So hopefully they stock most of the colors.
