QuoteReplyTopic: Deployed to Iraq PLease Help Posted: May 31 2008 at 3:45am
currently I am deployed to Iraq before I made it here my hair was extremely healthy before being deployed I had color in my hair but I had my hair dyed back to my natural color before being deployed. Now my hair is breaking off something terrible around the edges! I am open to any suggestions of what I could possibly do to get my hair back healthy (such as product and routines).

Hey armychick, well it sounds like you need to do a heavy protein treatment and I am not sure what products you can get a hold of so I will give you a recipe for a natural heavy treatment: 1 egg whipped, 1 tbsp olive oil, 3 tbsp of any deep conditioner, and 1 tsp molasses. Combine ingredients and apply to your hair....ideally you would need to sit under a hooded dryer until the mixture has hardened on your head but you can also let it airdry. Rinse it out and follw with your reg deep conditioner. If you don't have access to those ingredients you can also do a pre-poo of 1 egg + 1/4 cup mayo....sit under dryer or plastic cap...rinse then shampoo/condition. After this heavy treatment you will want to follow up with a weekly protein treatment that can consist of a cholestrol conditioner (Lustrasilk Herbal or Shea/mango) + 1 tbsp molasses. HTH
In response to mslady's post on 22 June 2008 What is your hair routine while in Iraq? What products are you using? The responses are as follow:
IN the beginning I was doing what I did at home which was basically washing with Mizani Botanifying products, once a week and a perm every 4-6 weeks. After looking at a few things from the website I decided to try a few new products mainly aphogee and tried their protein treatment. I am now washing my hair twice a week and switching between aphogee and Mizani Moisturfuse line.I have stopped perming my hair and I am about to start wearing braids to kind of get out of using gel to tame my hair as it is transitioning. Do you have any suggestions of some goods products to use for when you have braids?
