help for BAD cut Please

I went to my sister's stylist today for a hair cut and now have, truly, the worst hair cut I've ever had. I walked in with long hair to the middle of my back, thick and curly underneath. I asked for shoulder length with bangs and specifically said don't cut it with blunt ends because it will poof out into a clown-like triangle (like Gilda Radner from SNL)
It is stacked in the back and long on the front sides, I can't stand it and I can't fix it. It just doesn't fit my head, so I look like a q-tip.
Any suggestions? UUGH!
