Famous quote from Morgan Freeman in shawshank Redemption.
For all those who say wavebuilder doesn't work. See below for results. It has been about a year and a half. Waves will not happen overnight , just keep your eye on the prize and continue to press on.
Weapons of Choice
Brush = Annie soft, Annie medium, Dianne hard $6
Shampoo = Biolage Hydrating shampoo and conditioner $35
Misc = Plastic sandwich bag (yes I know plastic bag??? Just use it. It works) $3
Some Pics. Yes I know... I need a shape up. maybe later...
I did do the wolfing session for about 7 months which indeed helped the wave progression, but I tell you working in my position at the job was a bit unworldly and very un- professional. So I said to myself how can I continue the wolfing process without the “mad man” look? And I came to the conclusion… There is absolutely no need to wolf to the point of no return, just continue to let your hair grow, and get your shape up. Why should your hair go past your hairline??? Why should your side burns grow into an afro??? Why should your hair on the back of your head reach your back literally???
You shouldn’t have to look like Einstein on your path to wave success. What I do is get my shape up once a month at the barber and shape myself if need be in the mid of the month, I go at least 8 weeks until I have the barber to a wave cut (2 ½ ) . You see what happens is that I don’t cut my hair real low, and I continue to use the Dianne hard brush (great brush!!) ,so my hair gets stronger and moreaccustomed to routine. To train your hair, you must have hair, its just that simple.
Now I know you noticed plastic bag in my arsenal and you may have some questions, but before I get into that let me discuss the shampoo. You probably heard of biolage. They have many products for all sorts of hair textures, and they all have different effects on your hair.Trust me, it messed me up in a big way. I was 4 months into the wave game and was still trying to decide what wave product and shampoo I should be using and I ran across biolage. I picked up biolage “normalizing” shampoo and not reading the label, I started shampooing my hair with it. All of a sudden my waves disappeared. Man I was heated… On the label it stated that the shampoo will remove the curls in your hair, and since the wave is an ” s “ type curl pattern, my waves went by by. Now I only use biolage “hydrating” shampoo and conditioner, I guarantee you it will not remove the waves in your hair, it will also add an unbelievable shine to your hair.Be warned though that price is a bit steep, but it is worth every penny.I shampoo my hair twice with the Dianne brush (try to shower in warm water), then I condition once with the annie soft brush, always wash the conditioner out of your hair with lukewarm to cold water. Now on to the plastic.
Think of the plastic as the final touch to the wave process, the plastic is used to buff your hair follicle. Put a little wavebuilder pomade (that’s all you need from wavebulder), place it in your hair in the same direction you brush your wave. Then place your hand in the plastic and rub it on your hair in the same direction you brush. Your hair can be semi wet, but you will go through two plastic bags, or you can du rag up your hair while its semi wet, let the du rag dry on your hair then use the plastic bag, you will only need one this time. Make sure you don’t use any more than two bags a day.Rubbing the plastic bag on your hair will first remove all the static from your hair, then it removes all the bad molecules in your hair and leaves your hair with high shine. I swear there will be times someone will tell you are going grey, but it’s just that sun hitting that healthy hair. The plastic also compacts your waves and fuses them together to give it that aggressive look. I tell you there is some real science behind this plastic and best kept secret… Once you are done with the plastic, du rag up. You shouldn’t use the plastic no more than 15 minutes, it’s not about how long you do it, but how you do it.
So as you can see I am not using 10,000 oils and texturizers. Just simple pomade, shampoo and plastic. You see our hair is naturally strong and pretty much comes in the three textures: straight, curly , semi – curly. Nappy is not a texture, it’s just a name that Caucasians referenced when comparing our hair to theirs.I know everyone on this board has their own techniques and experiences, but I wanted to share some light on the naysayers and urban mythes out there. And I am not saying that my way is the best, because it all about sharing ideas and utilizing them to move in a positive direction.
This forum is a big well of information, bubbling with inspiring ideas. Great job gentleman.
P.S. I know allot of individuals state that the bag thing is retarted and stupid... and what people might say when you do it out in public. But hey that can go for brushing two thousand times a day, Just remember its all about you, just enjoy what you are doing and forget about them, and thank God for blessing you from sun up to sun down.
Take care!!

Thanks for the compliments gentleman. I am still learning the 360 waves. I am new to the board, but i have been reviewing this site for about two years. there is quite a few allstars on this board, as for me, i am still rookie. as long as the knowledge continues to spread like peanut butter how can anyone lose.
