oh yeAa, something i'd like to add/mention in light of winter coming soon in the next few months..with the temperature change the moisture level in your hair will vary THEREFORE it will be Okay to use one or more products to maintain proper conditioning, also while your hair is either long or short.
um probably over an inch BUT i had to work to get it like that at this size, i had to grow my sh!t out really long a few times to train it to be able to wave lower. longest was at like 3-4 inches..joint was stacked and crazy, my barber would be like aye its time to cut this and i was like nah gimme a lineup. YO, Neva stop brushing no matta wat, i did that and lost progress cuz i got some visibility then i was afraid to brush and stopped..big mistake! the Medium brush is mah best friend now. Oh, and u aint gotta brush as much as everybody else on here wit hair like us so take it easy. Typically brush before and after you wear your durag, in the shower when u shampoo ect and some during the day to keep it neat or when u feel like it. moisturize, wash, train & brush all at the same time, just use the right brush.(soft low, medium higher)
good ish. so if u was to pull a hair off of ya scalp how long would it be?? also should one keep brushing even if they dont see any kind of ripples after a whole day of brushing, or should i wait longer and keep moisturizing, washing & training my hair to lay down until my hair curls up?
I'm gon try and keep this short & simple... Moisturizing is the most important thing to do, holds and curling gels never really worked for me(actually makes it worse). i would use a hair dressing or a weak pomade cuz im using a shea butter pomade. i don't recommend pink lotion, carrot creme is ok but didn't really seem to work well for me. But maybe thats cuz i caked the sh!t but oh well. Wash every 3 days normally right around the time it starts to get all smelly and nasty...but before i get a cut, i wait to wash on the 3rd day afterwards & with nothing in it except for oil residue i mixed in with the cholesterol conditioner so hair wont be too dry. Use medium & soft brush only. Soft when its low, medium as it gradually gets thicker, NEVER a hard brush. remember to find out what works best for you..as far as products, washing, cut sizes ect, i've tried everything. Be patient, durag, and brush. i been at this for a year and still don't have everything perfect, learn by trial & error..experience. having a good barber is a huge help, get wtg cuts..i always get 3wtg cutz & lineups while im wolfing. training your hair is the key to seeing real results since the beginning stages my hair used to stick up all the time until i trained it to lay down easy now. get stuck in the routine or else you'll get frustrated and give up meaning durag every night and do everything else til its just part of your daily routine & 2nd nature like eating or sleeping. Brush in the shower(in the right directions always), shampoo and condition(i use Cholesterol), dry your hair as you would brush.. oh yea, as far as products are concerned..i use one, and only once when i get out the shower til the next wash also this way u can just work off your natural oils..don't cake or use too many things at all. one more thing, i only use durags no wave caps..cuz its more comfortable and don't leave no lines in the front or back which start to hurt after a while.
