When adding a reddish/violet tone to the hair, it usually fades pretty quickly, yet the hardest colours to totally remove from the hair, Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
The 10 vol, is only to refresh/ deposit your colour, so this will not cause it to fade any quicker. Try using a colour save shampoo to stop your colour fading so quickly, see how that works.

Hey y'all, I'm new here and have a question for you lovely ladies!
Does anyone here remember Clairol's MC Max color? *sigh* I really miss those. Anyhoo, they used to have black colors with blue, red, and violet bases.
I want a black with a purplish "shine", similar to the Black Orchid. I did a mix of Wella Color Charm 1/2 oz black + 1/2 oz black cherry and 2 oz 10v developer and it turned out...ok I guess, but it's fading to a very dark reddish brown, which I was kind of hoping to avoid. What would be a better ratio of black to black cherry? Or am I totally out of the ballpark and need a color other than black cherry? Could the 10v developer be making it fade faster? Inquiring minds want to know
Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer into my dilemma!
