QuoteReplyTopic: Need straightening Tips... Posted: April 23 2002 at 10:59am
Hi , I have a short layered haircut that I really like but would love to be able to have it a little straighter. My hair has a bit of a wave and when I blow it straight it stays until it rains or humidity is in the air. Can anyone recommend any produts or tips on getting more of a straight look? Don`t want to go the chemical route , my hair is color treated. Thanks so much....:)
Are you using a straightening product when you dry now? It sounds like your hair is fairly straight to begin with since it only acts up in moisture, so maybe a light hold straightening/smoothing gel will do the trick. I know there are dozens and dozens of high-end products that probably work wonders, but I use Loreal studio melting gel for my hair, which coss about $3 and leaves my hair stick straight and silky.
Since your hair is short you could probably experiment with a wax styling stick....but my hair`s long, so I don`t know enough about that particular product to recommend one.
Also, does your hair just get wavy or frizzy too in humidty? If it`s a tad frizzy (like mine---only mine`s more like a Chia Pet when it`s wet outside) you might want to try using a leave-in thermal protectant conditioner when you blow dry, especially since you color. I hear Paul Mitchell`s Seal and Shine is great, but I use Jhirmack HeatCare, which costs $3 and is absolutely fabulous. Only Wal-mart carries it that I know. I hope this helps..........good luck! :-)
