Basically to say when you use peroxide to lighten your hair it kind of makes a off color of blonde. So I would not exactly try.
I had a friend who was lightening his hair with peroxide...while it did work it came out very splotchy (and of course kinda of off colored.) But to use it just put it in your hair and try to make it as even as possible. The peroxide only works while it is wet...meaning when your hair completly dries then it stopeed lightening.
If I were you I would rather go up to a Sally`s beauty salon and just buy some dye that is similar color, but a lighter. The developer which you use is basically a peroxide but developer peroxide works much better:)

I understand what you mean lyris i went through the same dilemma particularly with that notorious sun-in by clairol they should just ban that product altogether
I would really reconsider doing this on your own. ANY time you put permanent color into your hair (or take the natural color out, as with peroxide) you are damaging your hair--there is no way around it. When I was your age (holy cow that makes me sound old...I`m only 21 :-) I tried to lighten my hair. Oh, it got lighter all right, but it took two years to grow out the damage. I know it`s tempting to try a new color, but unless you have invincible hair you will have to deal with some negative effects. Have you discussed the possibility of highlights with your mom? She might be hesitant to let you make a drastic, all-over hair change but perhaps subtle highlights could be a compromise. In any event, I strongly recommend having your first color experience in the salon. Good luck!!! :-)

Hi everyone- I`m 16 years old and I have medium brown hair and I won`t to go blonde, but my mom won`t allow me to dye it. One of my friends whos color is about the same as mine put peroxide streaks in her hair and then went out in the sun for about two hours and it turned the parts that she highlighted a really pretty golden blonde color. I also heard if you blow dry your hair with it, it will even get blonder. Has anyone ever used peroxide? And, how much do you use? How can you get the best results? How long should you leave it in? Thanks!
