Also, there is a GREAT online glossary of hair product ingredients:
http://www.geocities.com/HotSprings/4266/gloss.html
This is a great resource. I printed it out and bring it with me whenever I buy shampoo/conditioner so I know if it`s really going to work for me. Good luck!

Hi! According to Paula Begoun, the consumer advocate author who likes doing vicious exposés of the hair/cosmetics industry, Christopher is right: no product can protect your hair from the sun. Now I don`t agree with everything she writes (she has serious issues with anything shimmery in cosmetics and is obsessed with sunscreen) but according to her book, Don`t Go Shopping for Haircare Products Without Me, products claiming to contain sunscreen aren`t regulated uniformly....so until they start putting SPF numbers on the labels, there`s really no way to police these kind of claims. That`s what she says. Personally, I don`t think a shampoo/conditioner could do much to protect your hair from the sun, since you wash it away and down the drain. Perhaps there will be a protective spray with a specific SPF number someday, who knows. If you`re trying to keep hair color from fading, there are some ingredients you should watch out for: sulfur is one that can strip color.

The best thing you can do is protect your hair with some kind of covering, be it a beach umbrella or a hat. That`s all I know! :-)

Hi, how can I protect my hair from the sun. Please could you give me types of produts to use not the name of the product. ie. Color shampoo, not Loreal color shampoo.
Thanks, much appreciated xxx
