It kind of depends on what you mean by platinum blonde and the tone you ultimately want. It is kind of hard to tell with your picture, but, it looks quite orange on one side and a pretty champagne blonde on the other. I would think you will have to bleach again to get through the orange to a pale yellow.
I don't know about the Born Blonde purple shampoo, but, I think those shampoos are only designed to slightly control brassiness (not sure though). It sounds like you just haven't bleached long enough.
the lighting in this room sucks. there is only one lamp & it's on one side of the computer, lol. but the ends seems orange to me. i know when i had two-toned hair (blonde on top, brown underneath) that i only bleached once & got a nice blonde color, but of course there wasn't so much color to remove. are there any pre-packaged bleach kits that are good? the last 2/3 bleach packets that i got from sally's didn't seem to make a difference. & i left them all in for damn near an hour.
i'd like this color, or atleast something close to this, if possible.

this has been such a process for me, lemme tell you.
i am naturally blonde. but, like most blondes, i always wanted darker hair. so since i was about 16, i've been bouncing back & forth from light to dark. about two years ago, i went back to blonde, only to change my mind a year later & go to black. & now here i am, trying to achieve a platinum blonde status. hard task? yes. impossible? no. a couple months ago, i bleached it & came out with a very reddish color. gave my hair a break for a while & then last week, tried it out again. the results were very orange. last night i was determined to get rid of all the orange, but i can't tell if my hair is "yellow enough". i bought the born blonde purple shampoo & it did lighten it up a bit more. but i need a second opinion.
do i need another process of bleach or am i okay to pick out a dye? & if so, any suggestions on the color? i usually use missclairol dyes from sally's.
