Everybody is different. I`m not really big on overall "firm" definitions of long, short or medium.

I have seen hair that is above the shoulder look long (especially if the person has a long neck), and have seen hair below the shoulder look short.

Every person needs to define what is long or short for themselves, not trust anyone else`s opinion in the matter (especially in the salon chair!)

Everyone`s opinions on this are so different. I think short hair is anything above the shoulder. Medium length is from the shoulder to mid-back, and long is anything past that. But that said my hair is 29 inches long, which is waist length on me and still say my hair isn`t long. :-)

My opinion......

I would call short anything chin length and up, medium could be about 2 inches past shoulders to chin, long being bra strap/mid back, and really long waist on down.

What do you call long / short / medium ?
Ie. Medium Mid back.
My Mom says my hair is long but it is only up to my shoulders ! whereas I would call it medium...
