Beautiful photo of you two! I still LOVE the Platinum.  I am going to try something I found today on swatches... Colorful Professional Protein Filler in Platinum or Neutral & see how that works.  I also love sheer silver, lavender, platinum gentle hues in the mags GreatHair & Hairstyles Only.  The Salons in the UK Dominate in style, quality color and service with exceptional talent as far as I'm concerned.

Hi
I want to thank everyone for your replies.

since I wrote he last post I knew I had to get rid of the pinkish red my stylist had left me with so my daughter allplied an auburn red that turned out very bright red. I absolutelly hated it! Today I went to Sallys. The girl recognised me from my blonde days and asked me what my stylist would think about this red. When I told her he is the one who put in the first pinky red she could not believe he had done it. Guess she liked the blonde.  Anyway to get rid of the bright red she said to use Ion 3N-3.0 a dark brown. My hair is very porous so I am now a dark brown whicj is not all that gret but better than the bright red. I asked her about changing it back to blonde. she said it would be a lot of work, I would need to stripp the color etc and I needed to give my hair a month break

I know my hair was in better condition when it was bleached and now that I have colored it it is dry. when I had it blonde I conditioned it constantly used Apoghee reconstructor 2 times a week etc and it was in much better condition even though I am still using aphogee products. I am posting another blonde pic, this one with my daughter she took with her camera  in her phone back in June. the color of the blonde in this pic is more the actual color it was. In the first pic the coloring and exposure left it looking more yellow than it really was. this pic is more accurat of the color blonde I had.

So sorry for your loss....I also have lightened blonde hair. But I used to be a redhead for almost 5 years. I looked great in both colors ( just like you ). Strangely, people said I looked better as a redhead, but honestly I was so bored with it. I needed a change. And I still like the blonde better. As others have said before, it's what YOU want that matters. I am staying blonde for now. Take care !

Hi,Smile

first of all my sincere condolences for your sad lose.

I get this all the time. I have a lady who comes into the salon and I she gets a very light ash blonde and she is 62, and she too gets the same comments as you do. I always say at the end of the day, its how it makes you feel about yourself. Who cares what others think, don't you try to please anyone but yourself. I must admit, I love both colours on you, but I am thinking more of the up keep for you with the blonde hair, having to have your roots done every 3 weeks a bit of a pain I bet, lol.

You look fantastic, you go girl, your only 47, I'm 42 a hairstylist, and I can assure you I have had every hair colour of the rainbow, lol, I am now dark brown with pink flashes, and I couldn't care less what people think. I actually had a client ask for another stylist because of my hair colour, the client did not feel confident enough because I had pink in my hair OMG, you can't please everyone, but you can yourself.

I am partial to the Blond.  Your beautiful eyes are complemented with the blonde and the red may be a bit too dark for your complexion.

In my humble opinion,Embarrassed what would be perfect is a good pearl platinum result with all yellow cancelled out by violet,  with upkeep products like Schwartzkopf  Color Save Silver or Keune Silver, Live blond Goldwell mouse and plenty of conditioning treatments.  An example of gold cali blonde to platinum... *yet with a touch of gold* Just uniform.
http://modernsalon.com/ArticlesLandingPage/tabid/68/Default.aspx?tid=1&cid=9767   *danusia*. I like Koleston Perfect 10.16 or 10.8 Wella C.T, t18 Color charm, KP 12.1 as examples but I know there are many others.  It isn't the best example but the fastest one I could find. Many UK mags show gorgeous icy results in comparison to the CA USA sunny blondes  each are pretty in their own ways.

What is most important is what feels good to YOU. When you look in the mirror if the blond lifts your spirit & puts a smile on your faceThumbs%20Up then that is your answer.  What makes you happy is most important.

My sincerest condolences for your losswub

I'm so sorry to hear about your fiance.

I think you make a lovely redhead!  It suits your skintone perfectly.  If you don't like the shade of red you have now, maybe you can ask your hairstylist to give you a richer hue, maybe combine it with a few high and lowlights to give it some dimension?

Sorry, but I agree with fluffy peanut. In my opinion it's because the blond is TOO light. It doesnt look natural.Perhaps if you added some LOWLIGHTS or toned it it may make a difference.

Hmmm, the blonde is pretty, but honestly, it makes you look a lot older. I really like the red on you! It's a pretty shade and it suits your skin tone. :)

Hello all
I joined this forum back in May but for aome reason all my log in info has been lost anyway I have a few questions.

I was auburn red and decided to go blonde back in May. After much trial and error I reached a pretty pale blonde but it was still a little yellow in places. I liked it and my children liked it. My oldest daughter always did my roots for me every 3 weeks or so since my hair grows fast.

I have many friends that said they liked the blonde but they also said they liked me aubern better. My girl friends said they thought I should go back because the blonde made me look bimboish and trashy! So the reactions were mixed, some liked it some said I looked cheap.

My fiance passed away on the 27th of September, and the past 2 months have been a nightmare for me. My hair was neglected to say the least, had terrrible roots so I followed the advice of my friends and went back red. Now I hate my hair! I miss my shimmery blonde hair. It was so shiny, glistened and now it is dull, and too red for me. And I think it makes me look older. I am 47 and my friends say I am too old for such light blonde hair.

My question is why do some love the blonde and  others say it makes me look trashy when in the beginning they liked the blonde? I think they are just jealous myself cause theirs looks bad. And should I care what other people think of my hair?  I had one friend tell me she liked the blonde and thought I was beautiful, looked like Marilyn Monroe. Several people told me the same thing. My land lord told me today that he liked the blonde best because it suited my complexion. how do we make any kind of real decision when people tell us such differing opinions?  Does this happen to anyone else? This may seem like a stupid question but I don't want to look weird and want honest opinions on my hair. Is 47 too old for to be blonde?

I will try to download some pics of both and hope to get honest opinions here. Sorry if the pics come out too big, tried to fix this.
