Hey everyone -

I just got these "no metal" hair bands and I was wondering if they are bad for your hair. I have read that the regular ones are because the metal part that holds it together rips and damages hair, but these "no metal" ones are glued or attached some other way and there is *no metal*. Are these bad for your hair, too?

Thanks!

Only the evil ones...;)
They COULD damage your hair, but only if you managed to get them really tangled up or something.
They are much less likely to do damage to your hair than the kind with metal(Yay!:D).
I use the kind with *no metal* and I haven`t had any trouble with them yet...except for the evil one I was talking about that I somehow managed to get a knot around and had to cut it out of my hair...but I don`t think it did much of any damage:D.

Hi

I recently found some great elastics from a company named Scrunci (or something like it). They make hair accessories for long and thick hair. They have these great elastics that have no ends, meaning their is no metal, no glue or ends to get trapped in your hair or to strip your hair. I`ve been using them now for two months and have never pulled out a hair with the elastic. They also make little "no pain" plastic elastics that are great for smaller braids or a pony tail that isn`t holding too much weight. I have only seen them in Canada at Pharma Plus, but it might be a start for those people that are sick of pulling out a clump of hair with those "old fashioned" metal bracket elastics.

Good luck ladies
Lori
