hi!

i was thinking about getting hair extensions again and was thinking about bohyme silky straight in #30 (i think)

the last time i wore them they refused to hold a curl at all when i tried using a curling iron.  has anyone else had this problem?

thanks!

I have heard that before with the silky straight. I think the more you curl it, the easier it takes a curl. You might also go with one of their body wave textures. If you want to get it to *really* hold a curl most of the time, you might go with French Refined. In my experience though, the amount of curl in the FR varies pack by pack.

I have worn the FR in color 30 in the past and really liked it. Their color 30 is a little different from other companies (has a little more neutral to ash tone). If you are set on the silky straight, I think it will just take a while to get the hair accustomed to being curled.

I wear Bohyme SS and I wear it curly most of the time. When its first installed it definitely takes a little more work to get the curl to hold. But using some lil' curling tricks will help (like using a duckbill clip and clipping the curls until cool). After a few washes it holds curl much better. In fact I start to fall in love with Bohyme hair after about a month of wear.

thanks ladies!

is the french refined or body wave as nice as the silky straight?  i had really good luck with the SS other than it not holding a curl.

i'm willing to work with the silky straight, but anything easier is better, obviously Smile

Personally I think the SS is the most durable texture. I really didnt find much difference in the bodywave when I wore it, After washing it drops to nearly straight. They say its supposed to hold curl better, but I really didnt find that to be true. The FR is nice hair, and I liked it when I wore it, but I prefer the smooth sleek texture of SS, which FR is NOT. To someone who has straight hair or prefers the silky and sleek textures they may find the FR to be frizzy or coarse looking/feeling.

my hair naturally is a bit coarse and dry.  the SS blended well though, no onbe could ever tell.

these decisions are so difficult!

Sounds alot like my own hair. The SS blends well for me too, I just have to do a little work on the top/my hair (flatiron). I prefer the sleek and smooth look and would rather work with the hair on top. With the FR you wont get that sleek and smooth look to the hair like SS. The Bodywave is also a pretty smooth & silky texture, I just dont think its quite as durable in the long run...but thats just my opinion, and ya know what they say about opinions! Wink

Personally I like silky straight. It actually holds curls and doesnt tangle like other brands and textures.
