QuoteReplyTopic: Short Again Posted: January 13 2009 at 7:13pm
This weekend my wife asked if I would cut her hair short again. I was asking her to let it grow out so she could do a chin length bob for spring. Well it's short again. She asked me to clip the back and sides with a #3 and taper short the nape and around the ears. I love to cut hair using clippers, it makes the style come alive and is so much easier than using scissors over comb. I dyed her hair a light ash color (9AA) and added highlights through the top. I hope she keeps this style. Mikecuts

I did what is called Microbangs. She hates bangs that look like they are cut straight across. So they get "chipped" short. about 1" long. . I will post one with the color change tonite

Hi Mike! Pretty hairstyle. Your wife looks amazing! Would that type of style work on wavy hair as well. I am in the process of growing out a buzzcut and it is taking forever. But I feel like I need a goal to reach for at the end and this looks like it would be perfect! Also if you don't mind, could I take that photo with me to the hairdressar when the time is right? Thanks! Debbie

I would be honored to have one of my cuts duplicated. by all means yes it would be fine to take to your stylist. Would you like mmore of the sides back and front? just IM me.
Yes this would work just fine on wavy because it is so short on the sides and nape area. This would be nice to gel the top and let it flow.

Thank you Mike for giving me permission to use your haircut as a style that I truly love. I know that I will have to gain some legthn (and it is taking forever!), but I will get there! I sent you a pm. Thanks again!

Absolutely stunning style - before and after the colour.
My wife wears her hair in a similar style but the length on top continues down to the hairline at the nape. I would love my wife to have her nape clippered this short but she feels it wouldn't be as feminine as her current style. She is starting a new office based job shortly, and has a cut booked prior to this, so she may decide to have the back cut into a tidier and short look to make an impression when she does start. If her stylist suggested it she'd probably give it a try under the circomestances - but I won't be holding my breath.

Great cut your wife looks amazing with this cut. I'm just curious how long her hair was before you cut it as you say she was growing it, and if possible would you post a before picture. I just love seeing the transformation. Thanks S
Her hair was a lot longer on top. The back was just about touching her collar and the sides about half way over the ears. Almost like a over grown wedge. I will look for a picture and post it. Thank you all for your comments. She does look a lot better with short hair and will keep this cut through the summer I am sure.

Hi Mike. The line is *perfect*, but the sides and back are a bit too short for *my* tastes in short-haired looks. I liked my wife's nape hair soft-looking when she wore hers short. (I can't believe the old pics of her with short hair! It actually was *that* short in the summer of '98. lol)
I've read some of your postings in the past, Mike, and now that I see your talent on display, it made me think that with your sensitivity and ability, I can't imagine a woman ever walking out of your salon displeased. Continued success, Bob
