I saw online there are these new hair extensions that are a lot flatter than normal ones so they are more undetectable. The application looks really easy too; you just apply a special tape adhesive to the weft and stick it to your hair.

Has anyone tried using these? What are the results? Do you like the tape's hold or do you use glue? Are they really as undetectable as they say they are; I go to the gym a lot and pull my hair up in a pony tail but it's hard to cover up extension tracks when you do this....

I have heard of these but don't know anything about them yet. I am anxious for you to get some great answers. Have you seen them?

Yeah, if you go to sultryhair.com they have them on there.  They look really cool, but for $200 bucks, I want to make sure they are gonna work like I want them too.  I guess they are pretty popular there because they are out of stock often.
I've posted this question on like 3 different boards, but I guess nobody knows much about them.

I have tried seamless hair extensions a few times and they are great because they are easy to apply and remove yourself, but most importantly they are very undetectable.   I also went to sultryhair.com and after they answered all my stupid questions, I ordered one pack of hair 18" in color #4 (when I was a brunette). The hair is super nice and natural. Also, as you mentioned one pack of hair is 4.5 oz; which is more than other sites offers per pack. That plus the quality explains the price. To anyone considering seamless hair, you should check sultry hair out. I was very pleased with the hair quality and service.

So do you just apply the tape to your hair and thats it? Also can you wash them while in, or does that ruin the tape? Also what about when you want to reinstall them, how to you get new tape on them?

Hi -
I am trying to figure out if there is any do it yourself hair extensions that actually look as good as bonded extensions and if they are worth it.  I have heard about clip extensions.  Do they work?  Is that what seamless hair extensions are?
I wish I could get the bonded kind, but I can't afford to replace them every three months at a thousand dollars.  Suggestions are welcome.

I have used super tape and liquid gold bond glue. The tape is easy to apply, but the glue lasts longer for me, maybe because I have more experience with the glue and I don't really know how to apply the tape. Is there a better hair adhesive (glue or tape) for seamless hair?

AnaisR- Wow that is expensive. You pay a thousand dollars for hair? Where and what kind? If you like the seamless hair you might also like the clip on hair as well. It also gives you a seamless, less bulky look.

sorry that is for hte hair and the application.  The Hair stylist uses human hair and bonds it to your hair.  It costs about a thousand dollars for the hair and the labor.  I know it is a lot of work.

The issue is she says the only last three months and then you have to replace them.  So it is at least a thousand dollars every three months.
I wish I could afford that, but I can't so I was going to try the clip on kind.  I was just wondering if they truly look good and are undectable, but if I should just save my money

I've tried using clip in extensions and I personally don't see how they work out for anyone.  First of all, it takes forever to put them in because you have to tease and hairspray your hair at the roots, otherwise they slip out.  And even though the clips are supposed to lay flat against your head, they still create bulk, and it's near impossible to place the wefts close enough together because then you'd have to basically lay the clips on top of eachother which makes an even bigger bump.  Then you just have a couple wefts in places, but aren't able to put enough in to make it blend with your real hair.  I really wouldn't  recommend the clip in ones if you are planning to do your whole head.  My hair has gotten a bit damaged on the sides of my head, so the hair in the back is a lot longer....so the only thing I use the clip ins for is to create length on the sides.  That's pretty easy because I only need to use one or two on each side.  So that's why I was asking about seamless, I think that's the route I'm going to take instead.

What are seemless extensions and how do they work?  Is that something you can do yourself?

Yes, you can D.I.Y. I've seen a few tutorials on the web. Here (http://www.sultryhair.com/pages/SkinweftDemo.htm )is a seamless hair how to apply tutorial. I prefer using Liquid gold glue, but you can use glue or tape.

Ok so I went ahead and ordered some seamless extensions off of sultryhair.com, and they are AMAZING!!!!  I ordered them last Tuesday and was in shock that they came the following Friday, so that was super fast.  The wefts are so thin, but they still seem a lot more durable than normal extensions. Putting them in was so easy and simple, and once I was done....I almost couldn't even feel where I had put them in they were that undetectable.  I took them out like 2 days later just to see how easy it would be; I bought some of their removal spray, sprayed it on and they peeled right off!  These were exactly what I needed....I just wanted to add some length to the sides of my hair where it was shorter than the back....I wasn't looking for something that would guarantee hold for months and months, but something that I could put in easy and take out just the same.  The hold seems really strong, and I was just using the tape so I think using the glue would be even better if you wanted to keep them in for longer.

I would definitely recommend these to anyone.  If you are looking for some staying power I would go with the glue though.  But for me, the tape works perfectly!

I used the taped seamless WITH GLUE and it was horrible for me.  I could fee the tape and see it.  I do have thinned hair from damage so the tape was obvious.  I did not like that I could not go down far to the perimeter of the back hairline.  When i removed the seamless with that god awful strong chemical you need to remove them and the glue.  I was left with a strip of glue in the shape of tape!  The weft came off easily yes, BUT THE GLUE, no, no GOD no.  It was awful and took forever to remove it.  My hair came out with it and it felt awful using those chemicals on my hair.

I am on my second install of ManeMaxx with Tembond.  It is strand by strand so way more comfortable than wefts, especially taped wefts. It is actually GOOD for your hair.  When I removed it, it came off easily.  It is wax like and you just put it between your fingers and rub it and and smush it and it crumbles off.  You can pick off the rest left on your hair with your own fingers or OLIVE OIL if you  need a little more help.  But NO CHEMICALS.  THAT is what was important to me since my hair is so comprimised already.

Anyway look up manemaxx.com and check it out.  I have both my experiences on this forum with my taped seamless and then my experience with Tembond.  I spent about $700 for the hair and the to have someone else install the glued taped seamless (I could not do that myself no way)  And what did I spend on the Manemaxx hair?  $288 for a kit and if you need only a little extra hair they sell 2 ounce packages.  You are not forced to buy an entire full package if you need another color.

She has a Spring sale right now on the kits and hair so now it is even cheaper than what I got.  This hair is gonna last a a year  like it says it would.  It is just as silky as the day I put my first install in.  Someone on her site took a close close up pic of the Regal hair on manemaxx and the Bohyme hair and even the Bohyme hair showed some roots mixed in proving that even Bohyme hair is not really Remi.  On her pic of the Regal hair from MM, NO ROOTS.  All clean which means it really can last longer, even a full year if you take care of it.  Can you reuse Keratin hair after removing?  I don't think it is left in good enough shape to reinstall.  but you can use MM Regal hair over and over which saves even more money for ya.

Anyway you can search my thread I wrote on both experiences on previous pages.

Chemicals?  All they sent me with mine was a bottle of citrus oil and  it removed the tape no problem...it peeled right off my hair and all I had to do was peel the tape off the weft and it came off in one piece.  I haven't tried the GLUE if that's what you're talking about though.

YES that is what I was talking about.  I opted for the glue so I could wear them longer.  I was told that tape only would last me DAYS and not months.  The glue DID hold, that is for sure.  and I could have gone months but for one I bought the worst hair and it tangled badly.  I did not know anything about buying good hair.  I believed if a place said they sold Remy that they meant it.  Mine was not remy and not even close.  but also the tape was uncomfortable after a month as well.

I think if you wanted taped seamless for something temp and not use any glue, it is probably fine.  But that much glue (it takes alot  for the taped/glue combo) was way too much to try and remove.  I was told it was best to keep the tape on and glue it to make it last.

That was MY experience.  If one wants to take a chance and has strong hair, then fine.  but not a good idea if you have damaged and thin hair, that's all.
