Just a few things that have helped me along the way. I also struggled with the same problem of falling hair at a young age:
Water is both good for skin and hair. Try adding some lemon, lime, or berries to it, and it could help with the taste if you hate it that much.
Vitamins that I would recommend are: Perfectil - you can get it at drugstore.com, and also Biotin. Knox Gelatin also helps with strengthening hair - it's a powder mixture that you add to water. This can also be bought at drugstore.com
Other things that might help are: Virgin coconut oil. I like Nutiva brand. I get mine at vitacost.com. It's solid, so you have to warm it first, rub a small amount on your palms and massage into scalp for 5 minute. Leave it in over night and shampoo out in the morning. Check out this video on Youtube:

Greens are also very important. Check this site out for the ultimate green smoothie. It's pretty good and uber healthy for skin and hair.
Lastly, I swear by Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar (you can buy at any health food or vitamin store)
About an hour before washing my hair I rub some on my scalp. Then I follow my normal hair wash routine. I do this once a week.
Definitely research some of the things above and see their benefits and how that might work for you.
Get plenty of rest and try not to stress the small things as stress does effect your hair. It is also a good thing to use a natural or organic shampoo free of sulfates.
