They opened today's fourth hour of the "Today" show on NBC by Hoda Kotb pointing out that co-host Kathie Lee Gifford has bangs. KLG admitted she got bangs to try to look younger. In closeups, I was really drawn to her heavily made-up eyes. So while I often prefer bangs, I'm not sure this is an improvement. The rest of her hair appears to be the same length, although she might have gotten a layer or two.

I can't stand Kathie Lee but the bangs are an improvement, though I like Sara's better.

I'm ashamed to say that I've been keeping a steady eye on Kathie Lee's hair since she started on Today just over a year ago. During that time, apart from small day-to-day changes, she hadn't made a major hair change, so I'd lost interest. And here come the bangs!

Oddly, she actually did sport fake bangs several months back. She and Hoda were showing off fake clip-on bangs.

I do think the bangs are an improvement, and do think they make her look younger, and do think she should keep them. But Kathie Lee, you've got a ways to go until you look as cute as Sara with them. She's a doll!

If you've watched KLG on TV lately -- actually for months now -- you'd know the bangs are long gone.
