My girlfriend had her first micro tube move up yesterday and they re-used the same tubes. She's now worried that they feel sharp and jagged to the touch. She had expected them to use new tubes.

Is this best practice to re-use the old tubes? Clearly it's faster, cheaper but the copper must be rupturing after all the work hardening surely? Any ideas?

Your friend has every reason to be concerned. Sharp edges can damage the hair. I dont think rings should be re-used, but alot of people do it. I would say at least replace the ones that may feel sharp or jagged. Next time she should tell her stylist she wants a complete takedown and re-install with new rings.
