I've been slowly been going blonde from a medium golden brown. I'm at a stage of an orangey color not too orange but not pretty enough to pull of a strawberry blonde! LOL I really wanna not put any more bleach in my hair but want it a bit lighter and not orange. I thought I'd deal with this for a few more weeks cause I'm a SAHM and don't go anywhere. But this weekend we are going out with some friends and don't want to leave the house with orange hair. I was wondering what you'd think were the most gentliest way to do this? Also I have an extra light boxed dye here and was wondering if anyone knew what number volume boxed dye has? Sorry this was so long. Thanks so any help I can get.

I think most box dyes use a 20 volume.Depending on your color now and the length of time you leave it on,it may work. You could still be pulling a bit of a golden/reddish tone, but it sounds as though that won't bother you.Is the box dye an ash color? Cuz that will help offset the orange tones.

(And I know how you feel cuz I just basically went through the same thing, except I chickened out and went back to brown)
