Pink spots on blonde hair

   I have been getting highlights for the last ten years. Three weeks ago I got my hair coloured as usual, however pink spots have appeared on my hair but it takes three weeks for them to appear!! It looks like highlighter pen in hair. My hair dresser has never seen it before, and said I may have done some thing to it, to make it go pink. There is absolutely nothing I can put it down to, no highlighters near my hair, red paint or nail polish, nothing pink or red that has been near my head / hair!!

I had to get it bleached out and then the rest cut out. It's not my whole head, just spots of pink.

This is the second time it has happened in the last two months. My highlights were fine but then after three weeks pink spots appear on my hair. 
It won't come out with toners or bleach. It has to be cut out!!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I'll have no hair left if it keeps happening and needs to be cut out!!!
