Suggestions for Highlights?

I've come to the conclusion that my parents hated me when they decided to create me. Maybe I'm overexaggerating but having an asian father and an italian mother has created a rather... interesting touch to my beauty regimen.

 

lets cut to the chase: i want highlights.

 

Problem? i have medium skin but.. i'm yellowy...olivey...skin coloured. (depending on the day, i swear. some days i look more olive, others i look more yellowish) with LIGHT green eyes and dark hair (about a level 2) that's down to the middle of my back.

 

2nd problem? i need colour suggestions lol. i told my stylist i'm thinking caramel and she didn't seem to excited about that specific colour, and said she'd think about it and call me. but i want other opinions too. I know I don't want red. I want something in the blonde/brown family. HELP?!
