I had to try this and I have to admit, it's great!
My hair no longer feels dry. I have had to do it every 2nd day so far, I hope to go 3 days soon.
I never would have imagined not using shampoo!
Here in Canada, White Rain is over $2 though, so it's not the cheapest. I used Finesse the first time, and this time I used this new one I bought by Belvedere International called Citrus Twist. Nice scent and it worked well.
Thanks for the tip!

I've started trying it and my hair actually feels a bit better now.
This is my signature. It's not a very
good signature, but it's a signature
nonetheless.

for condition only washing to work, there are a couple of "rules" that you need to follow or your hair will be icky.

first, you have to use a cheap conditioner. good conditioners just don't work. the cheaper ones have just enough (mild) surficants to clean.

second, you have to use a TON of it each time. i go through a bottle of conditioner per week when i use this method. your hair has to be slimy and heavy b/c of all the conditioner.

third, after letting it sit on your hair while you continue the shower add a little water and massage like you do with shampoo. the conditioner will actually lather a little.

finally, when you rinse you HAVE to rinse well. i mean you rinse and rinse and rinse..... and just when you think you're done, rinse some more just for good measure.

if you follow those basic rules, conditioner only washes work quite well. and i have to agree that white rain is a good conditioner for washing with.

hope this helps.

i tried once to jus rinse my hair with conditioner.

it was kindof gross...

i didnt do the volumizing conditioner on the scalp thing though. i just rinsed well and put some normal moisturizing conditioner on the ends that usually works for me and rinsed.

my hair was. disgustingly greasy.

then again im 15. most 15 year olds produce a lot of oil.

Does this mean you don't use shampoo at all?

I've been doing this for over a year also. My hair is less frizzy and the top layer is less dry. I use white rain classics and then Suave Humectant as a leave in.

Yes, have been doing it for almost a year now. Took awhile for my hair to get accustomed, I had oily hair all my life, and it first it seemed to get oilier quicker, but after a couple of months (LOOOONG months) it adjusted and now I condition only two or three times weekly. Hair looks great, gets less greasy and I am quite pleased with the whole idea!!

My friend has been doing this for years, and I didn't know this until I asked her what shampoo she's been using. She sent me and e-mail of what she does. Has anyone here been doing this?

first of all, I have long, fine, dry wavy hair. I started doing this on a rec from a hair board. the conditioner you use is REALLY important. the wrong one will make your hair weirdly fuzzy, greasy, or your scalp itchy as I found out on my first few trials. the best I've found, without a doubt, is the white rain classics volumizing conditioner (yellow bottle, it's like 79 cents at a drugstore). turns out that it's really good that it's cheap, because you need a lot of it.. here's what I do:
1) wet hair and scalp really well
2) dump out a large handful of conditioner and apply it directly to my scalp... do this about two more times until scalp is slimy and slippery everywhere
3) work the conditioner on the scalp down the length of my hair, adding more if needed
4) you know you've applied enough when you can run your hands through your hair and scalp and EVERYTHING is slippery - your hands don't feel any friction anywhere
5) let sit while I wash my body or shave legs or whatever (about 3-5 minutes or so)
6) add a tiny bit of water to hair and work the conditioner into a mild lather on scalp - it's really cool, it actually lathers if you did it right!
7) rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse... keep rinsing for a full minte or two after you think you're done - this is a pain but very important
8) apply a normal, heavier conditioner to just the ends, and rinse

the benefits for me have been incredible - I have never been so happy with my hair!! my ends are not dry, I have so much less frizz, and my scalp actually gets oily more slowly so I can wash only twice a week if I want. the best part is that it's got much more volume than before - the soft, flowy kind of volume - not flyaway or frizzy.

I haven't used shampoo in nearly a year, and my hair loves it. every few weeks or so I do a weak vinegar rinse to clarify... I completely reccomend that you try this - and if it doesn't work, you either need: more conditioner, more rinsing, or the right conditioner (get the white rain!).

sorry this is so long, but I was so impressed with it that I thought I'd give you a summary. :)
