Sounds a little weird alright. But maybe he justs wants to brush it and stroke it before he moves on to other foreplay. My boyfriend just loves to play with my hair. It is chestnut brown w/ reddish highlights and is just past my butt. He will come up behind me and hold it, stroke it, hold it up and then move onto kissing my neck. He brushes it too for me. I have noticed that it does get a rise out of him while he is playing with my hair. I just think he has a thing for long haired women. He treats me like a queen, but a couple times that I have joked about a haircut, he looked like a sad little puppy. I would never do it though. I think I enjoy it when he brushes and strokes my hair as much if not more than he does. Do keep a good sense of humor and smile, it can diffuse an awkward moment from going too far without hurt feelings. Saying "No dude, we are not quite ready to go there?" has worked for me.

First, Aimee, I'm glad you're willing to keep it long! I hope b/f appreciates you! Now to you, Jenny. All straight guys fantasize about different parts of the female anatomy. However, disconnected from the flesh and blood woman, physical attributes mean little. At least for me, that's true. For me, and apparenly your b/f, long hair is fascinating and exciting. But, if I were you, I'd tell him that if he can't look you in the eyes and talk to YOU, he's history. No woman wants to be though of as only component parts. Until b/f realizes this, he's not going to make for much of a partner. Best, Bob
Well that sounds... REALLY weird!! I mean, not to sound impolite, but do u have normal sex w/ this guy? I really hope u dont cuz thats REALLY dangerous and degrading. SAVE YOURSELVES LADIES!!! Its like this- why would u wanna give ur future husband a used gift? Anyways i think ur b/f is just strange!
A having fetish is like having a cumplusive disorder, and being addicted drugs. Becuase having sex releases some of the same endorphines or chemicals that are in some illegal drugs. So the person gets addicted to that high, and there is an association to the complussion (SOURCE: I have a fetish, and I recently saw something on Fox news about this). Unfortunatly there is no medication out there that I reasearched that help supresses fetishes. If you find any let me know.
Many people out there have fetishes so I don't wouldn't treat him as a freak. If you love him and care about him then listen to him. I think you should talk to him about it privatly and get him to open up about his compulsion and listen to him.
I would also try to figure out how much does his fetish effect his life style. Some people can not control there fetishes, some can. Sort of like the social drinker verse the alcohalic that can not go 2 minutes with out a drop. If he is completety lost control then maybe he should see a professional about his addiction. If he can live a normal life and just has slight addiction then maybe it is best to be there for him and support him by listening as a friend or loved one.
Feeding the fetish; I don't think is the best approach, becuase according to the Fox news thing I saw is he can get more addicted to it and grow a tolerance. Just like must other drug addictions.
This is, as has been said, not a fetish board, although atl east half the people here do obviously have a hair fetish, they just don't act all smutty and dirty.
But the last post angered me. Fetishes are completely natural - certain sexual preferences towards certain features. What the hell is wrong with that? Everyone has a fetish.
Why on earth would you want to cure a hair fetish? It's like wanting to cure being Addicted to liking Quiet walks on a sunday afternoon, or reading books in bed.
People look at *everything* as an imbalance, disease or something else that needs to be solved with Drugs. Drugs, drugs drugs, the real war on drugs should be on the legal ones if you ask me, although the illegal ones are usually used for similiar reasons; not being able to face and deal with things.
A certain Queens o the Stone Age song about the increasing dependancy of society on drugs comes to mind ;)
A fetish is not something bad. I have a number of odd fetishes, from pointyish ears to pudgy bellies on girls, none of them make me a worse person. Everyone has them. They aren't a disorder.

To some degree I agree with Vineman. A hair fetish is harmless as are most fetishes and are normal. EVERYONE has a fetish of some sort whether they admit it to others or even to themselves. I would say 90% of the people on hear have a hair fetish as a fetish is merely an obsession which is "usually" sexual but not always. Anyway as long as it does not hurt anyone where is the harm ?
Right. Although they can cause relationship problems, so it's often best to "spread the fetish" in my opinion; try to find different things you have a fetish for. My fascination with hair led to me asking a previous girlfriend to dye her hair a lot, she wasn't happy with that. But taking medication for it would be ridiculous. It's still part of who I am. Maybe I'm MEANT to end up with a girl who likes doing stuff with her hair.
But I don't think it would be any different if i was trying to get her into something like, I dunno RPGing that she wasn't hugely fond of.
I prefer voluptous (sp?) women too, so getting them to put on weight, even if it's only a small amount, could be a bit er... weird. Then again, I also like thin figures, I'd probably end up disappointed :D It wouldn't be healthy to gain and loose weight like that.
So yes, it's best to keep fetishes and even just appearance-wise preferences to yourself a lot of the time, but they're generally not dangerous.
And there are more extreme fetishes like Feederism, and possibly some dangerous forms of BDSM.

I think it's much better to find someone with similar traits and interests to yours , than to find someone who's very different than what you want and try to change that person. Maybe you wouldn't bring up fetishes on the first date, but at some point it should be discussed, because it just seems wrong to me for people to be dating for a year, or get married, and then suddenly it's like, "Oh, by the way, I really get off on feeding girls, so if you'd just gain about a hundred pounds. . ." That's the stuff divorce is made of.
Heh, yeah. I love long hair on girls, but I also have this thing where I'd love to cut their hair kinda short, just once. It's probably more fascination than fetish. If only hair grew at will, it would be a perfect world for all of us :D
Well, it would. Think waht you could do with an endless amount of hair...
