QuoteReplyTopic: Sexier with long hair? Posted: November 05 2003 at 2:39pm
Yep – I definitely feel sexier with long(er) hair…..do you?
Maybe it’s to do with the sensuality of stroking long hair, drawing a comb through it and the feel of silky long strands against the body.
Perhaps it’s the way long hair moves in complementary harmony with movements of the body. The rhythm of long hair when running, dancing, laughing or even just turning around (when it takes a micro-second to catch up with the body).
Also, with longer hair I feel like an innocent girl and sexual woman at the same time, whereas with short hair I felt kind of dispossesed of both – a neutral non-sexual entity. But that’s probably just me.
What are your feelings on this topic?
Ladies and Gentlemen - does your long(er) hair make you feel sexier? If so, in what ways?
Having long hair makes me feel sexier than when it's shorter. For me, it's in the way it moves when I walk, run, laugh, dance (like you, Uzi); the way my long waves frame my face , shoulders, arms and back. I love the way it feels, soft to the touch. When my husband strokes it, I feel so beautiful. I love the way it smells when it's freshly washed or conditioned. All of these things make me feel sexy.
I've had shorter hair, and I think I just look prettier when it's long. Having pretty long hair makes me feel very female, and sexy, and I think it makes me look younger than when it's shorter. That makes me feel sexy too.
These are but my own thoughts and opinions on my own hair, no one elses. To each, his or her own.

As a personal preference, I think long hair makes a woman sexier and more feminine. Not that short hair is un-feminine, but I consider long hair as an extra decoration, almost like an accessory or beautiful jewlery. It can enhance the face and body.
Long hair can be attractive on men, because it's fun to touch and feels sexy. It's also original, so you can tell a guy is probably unconventional and creative.

I was thinking about this the other night, actually.
At the moment my hair is shoulder length and I'm going to grow it to mid-back. When my hair is chin to shoulder length, I feel cute; my hair is full and bouncy. When my hair is longer than that, I feel pretty and more feminine; my hair seems to "float" around me.
I think that healthy hair any length can be sexy. But for myself, I like long hair. Just the way it feels on my back, or my chest, or touching my arm. I love having it brushed and played with.

I definitely gotten more looks and compliments with my hair long. I feel more feminine and maybe look a little more mature than when I used to have short hair.
Well you have such beautiful long hair Crazy girl, no wonder you like your hair! It looks in perfect condition. I must admit, Asian ladies in particullar look lovely in long hair, they have such nice hair. Asian women also look great in short crops too. My wife is Chinese-American. She had beautiful, very long hair when I met her and then gradually went to very short hair. She looks great either way.
It's interesting that you say you look more mature with long hair because many of the Asian women I know say just the opposite. When they are teenaged girls or young women they wore their hair long, and then when they got into their late 20s they went to the short bob or pixie cuts to make themselves look more "professional" or "mature" instead of having the long "girlie" hair. I guess it is a matter of perception or how you feel you look in a given hairstyle. At any rate Crazy girl you are a very beautiful woman!
That's hard to say Elissa. *I have shoulder length hair now. I have had my hair longer and shorter than I have it now. I can't say for sure whether long hair makes me feel more attractive or not. *I am considering growing my hair longer. It seems like the right time to do that.

In this vein, I think long hair adds an extra dimension to erotic play and can be a powerful way to connect with your partner.
Especially if he or she is the only one who gets to “play” with your hair in a certain way .
And I agree with KathyAnn and Elissa that it depends on the person.
I have often reflected that a person with poorly maintained long hair may not be deriving maximum pleasure from it - or even consider it a part of the expansion of their personal sensual realm.....
I find that I feel sexier with long hair....I don't really know how this originated, it except that I think it may have been culturally ingrained into me. I remember my grandma always telling me i looked better with my hair long....she still does. It is to the point that when I have it short I feel completely insecure in my femininity and beauty and obsess about how long it will take for it to grow again.
I do enjoy it falling around me when I wear it down some evenings, but I rarely wear it down during the day as it is in the way....Sometimes I wonder why I feel sexy in long hair when a lot of the time it isn't down and more of my face, neck are exposed with it this way than if it were short. Something I also notice is that my husband rarely touches my hair or comments on it. Sometimes it irritates me as I would like to know that he appreciates it.
Anyway, I ramble...great thread Uzma.

Isn´t it an often reused filmtechnique to make a meeting between the hero and heroine extra sensual and erotic, to have him let her hair down? It seems to me almost archetypally symbolic of the way a woman opens up to her man.
There is no question long hair is sexy, both for the wearer and the partner. I sometimes think that my husband preferring me to wear my hair down when we dress up for a party or so, is deep inside and unconsciously a way for him to show off and tell his fellows: 'look, this is how sexy *I* am!'. What I mean is, the length of my hair also reflects on him. He is 'a man with a long haired woman' and that obviously makes him more virile.
The more you complain, the longer God lets you live.
Interesting question. My hair was officially measured at 5" yesterday.
That is the longest my hair has been since a sadly disappointing 1985 haircut, but just barely. Current plan is to grow it much longer before the next shearing.
And I do feel sexier. Hubba hubba.
Mrs. Happy currently wears a finger-length pixie. And sexy? Don't even get me started.
But that doesn't prevent me from constantly nagging her to grow it long again.
I wonder if the husbands out there with long haired wives feel uber-masculine...?
I guess there is a lot of traditional symbolism associated with long hair and female eroticism which is supported by "that moment" in old-style movies .....where the heroine's hair falls from it's up-do as she falls in the arms of the hero.
When the hero has long hair, it seems to be significant of a wild maleness when loose (definitely erotic) - and when tied back, of his reigning in of that aspect of himself.
Hmm, the guys seem to let their hair down before a fight as well....tres impractical...wonder what that signifies. Paralysis by analysis, huh ?

Yes, and if you get fed up with him, you can strangle him with it.
It's no coincidence that the cover of every historical romance features a heroine with long hair. The book "Survival of the Prettiest" discusses why, biologically and culturally, most men respond to it.

I don't know about sexier for me but having long hair feels like a security blanket and that makes me more confident which I guess in turn could make me more sexy. Remember ladies it's about presentation too!

Having spoken with many women (including quite a few Asian women on this topic), the "must have short hair to be seen as 'professional'" belief is a perception which is first believed and then acted upon. I see no reason why hair length and professionalism should be linked, especially because IMO professionalism is mostly about attitude and behavior (including communications) than it is about appearance.

I think it signifies that all that hair in motion will be entrancing to a subset their viewers (specifically, the women).
Ladies, thank you all for your input on a most interesting topic.
