I don't think all that is a good idea. I don't have no personal expierience with kits, but I heard that they can do some permanent sh*t to yo hair.

sounds good if thats wut u wanna do and 100% sure. NO1 IS FORCING YOU! The thing about peremmnt damage to your hair is prob not true. If so the kits female use.. females hair should be falling out about how many times they used a perm.

It could damage your hair but over 5yrs l8r the perm inst goin 2 b there. You to cut off the perm part after awhile. I think also wid perms or kits u gotta re put it in evr so, so. So do wutever u want.

What up Phil? If your hair is currently at the #2 level, then your hair isWAY TOO LOW for a texturizer kit. In order to use the kit your hair must be long enough for you to comb. Because what you have to do to get the waves is comb the texturizer through your hair until you see the waves. Because the waves can get so deep is the reason why your hair will look like it is low once the texturizer is in your hair (eg. Diddy, Brian Mcknight, Loon, etc...). Trust me, their hair is a lot longer than it looks.

I DON'T RECOMMEND YOU DO THIS!!!!! [/b

P.S. If you do go through with it be prepared to live with dandruff and also if you leave the texturizer in your hair too long it WILL burn your scalp.

Is it really worth it????????

Phil, I’m actually interested on seeing the results. I would like to compare your hair with ours, and see just how fast that thing works. Also, don’t let these cats scare you. If kits were THAT BAD, then they wouldn’t be on the market. One thing, kits can only damage the existing hair on your head, it does not seep into the roots, therefore there is NO PERMANENT DAMAGE and you can simply cut off your hair when you choose. Second, if it were to burn your scalp, trust me when I say you would feel it first. I know tons of girls who use relaxers and things of that nature, and before there is any serious damage they can feel the product getting hot. The only way you would seriously burn your scalp is if you kept it in while it was too hot. Otherwise dogg, good luck, and be sure to post pics.

P.S. Also dogg, wavecap is right when he said that your has to be longer for a kit.

what up smoke? When I said that the texturizer will burn your scalp, I meant that you will feel a burning sensation on your scalp. Another thing is that once you do feel this burning sensation the damage is already done. It is not permanent but you will feel the irritation everytime you comb that specific spot that was "aggravated". You are right when you say that the texturizer will NOT permanently damage your hair but it will damage your existing hair, just like you said. But what I said about the kit giving you dandruff is 100% true. The texturizer dries your hair and your scalp which is a recipe for dandruff.

TRUST ME WHEN I SAY THAT YOUR HAIR WILL BE DRY AS A MUTHAFUKKA!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going by PERSONAL EXPERIENCE and NOT by what I heard or what other people are saying.

Obviously, it is your choice Phil but you should take all these things into consideration.

P.S. I am not trying to scare you!!!

Kits ain't as scary as you peeps are making out, providing that you follow the instructions very well. I've never used a kit with the intention of making my hair wavy, but I did go through a stage when I was obsessed with making it curly using those kits. In fact if I could get my hair curly these days without the use of a kit, I would prefer that look to waves. I used a kit on two separate occasions, I neva achieved my desired look, but at the same time my hair was not dry and it did not appear to be damage, just had a nicer texture. Also I reckon you guys in the States use a different blade grading system to us over in the UK. Coz I know for sure a #2 ain't low, on my blades a #1 is 1/8mm and a #2 is 1/4 mm. Even after letting my hair grow for a month a #2 blade still can't cut my hair.

It's up to you between a durag and stocking cap. I would use a durag though beacuse using a stocking cap to sleep usually messes up your hair .

sometimes i use a du rag and a stocking cap...I put the stocking cap on first because i like the way it presses my hair down, then i put the du rag on top to keep the stocking cap in place while im sleeping.

During the day, i'd use the stocking cap only because it lets your scalp breathe. Whatever makes you comfortable, rock with it.
