Now we're well into 2004, the hangovers have worn off and we're probably back in work and school and back to normal. It's just cold and dark, not cold and dark and festive.

So, to reinstate our glowing feelings inside, what was your best hair thing about last year? A fab compliment, helping a friend grow their hair, reaching your goal or just not lopping it all off?

Personally, I loved a compliment a colleague gave me at our Christmas do. It sounds silly, but when she asked me "Were you a mermaid in a past life? Your hair's so gorgeous. I wish mine was like that" I felt so chuffed. To say the least.. Mind you, it took two hours to get it that good, and I couldn't put my arms by my side for ten minutes after that, but it was worth it to be compared to a mermaid. I love mythical creatures, and there is o nicer cmpliment I could have heard.

My mum's best bit was over 7" growth, which is amazing at 52 after a very stressful year in 2003.

So, come on, let's gloat in successes as an incentive to succeed this year!

This is not due to my hair being long...but rather to my curling success over Christmas. I have facination for boing boing curls...you know the perfect little coiled up ringlets. Well I was able to curl my hair and pull it into a pony tail that looked very victorian for my Christmas party. my family has gotten used to me pulling very victorian looks but we had some non relative friends at the party who all asked if my hair was a hair piece because it was so pretty and perfect.

I seem to get more compliments when i manage to curl or crimp my hair than when it is its normal poker straightness.

However, my uncle keeps telling me I ought to have been an elf in the LOTR and that he wonders why i would feel the need to curl my hair when its perfect as it is.
