There are good hair colourist and bad ones.

In my opinion, anyone who is willing to do a little reading on haircolour (try your local library) should easily be able to colour their at home.

What?! There is alot to know about hair color I`ve been doing it for 30 years` no kidding .I still learn new things about it.

IMo that`s nonsense; if you are reasonably skilled with color and diligently read your labels I think you can buy the same products or similar at beauty supply places.

The professionals use a lot of the products that are sold at these places.

But since you`ve run into a problem - I would recommend having a pro tend to it...gabi

From what I know, they aren`t that much different. After all a few companies make both.

Hey all! I`m looking for information on Professional vs. Store-bought hair dye. I know there are reports out there somewhere but have had no luck finding anything. I`ve dyed my lovely blonde hair a ghastly store-bought red and a friend of mine who`s a stylist says she`ll dye it back if I write her an essay on the perils of store-bought dyes. I need that blonde back, and I`m interested in the differences. Apparently store-bought dyes are not good for you, and I want to know WHY, and how much worse are they than professional dyes? Please respond to atsirab@yahoo.com Thanks! ~Heather Grace
