Hi, my sister is urging me to try this look - super short bangs. She said they have an uneven edge to them. I've searched the internet to see an example and can't find anything. Does anyone know where I can see an example? Tia!

I don't have a pic to show you but ultra short bangs can be a stunning look!
Wearing an ultra short pixie with very short bangs is also a great look.
Have you considered that, going with ultra short hair?

You can also go to www.alyssa.com and look up some pictures of Alyssa Milano when she sported super short bangs before her pixie cut. She had probably the shortest of any celebrity I can recall.

Very short bangs with long hair has a very childish/cutesy/baby doll look, though. If that's not the look you're going for, you'll want to either stay away from the short bangs, or wear them with short hair to look a bit more balanced.

Thanks everyone. I'm not sure this super short bang is familliar to you all, though, because according to my sister they are like an 1/2 inch from the root! And they just spike down between the long lengths on the sides. She's seen it a few times in the streets of New York where she lives.

I love short hair, like Alyssa's old look. But I grew it out long for fun during an earthy, mama stage. Now I'm slowly bringing it back to shorter levels. Now I'm at a over-the-chin length layer. I'd love to see those short spiky bangs somewhere. I have a big forehead, but the space between my eyebrows & chin is kind of scrunched so I really don't look good in traditional bangs. The forehead needs to be visible to give some length to my face.

I searched throughout Lisa Loeb's site, didn't find any bangs as short as what I'm talking about. Hers were very traditional. I'm also not talking about that baby doll look because I believe those bangs are still a big long, and usually strait across.

Here's a picture of a womanl with the bangs, but my sister said that the women she has seen in NY have longer length hair. They have this smaller section of bang in front, and the sides fall down to the chin or shoulders.

Anyway, I appreciate everyone's feedback.

Ooops that link doesn't go to the picture, but to the homepage. Oh well. It was a picture of the bangs, but the rest of the hair was wayy shorter than Sister described so it probably would have thrown y'all off.

Maybe your sister should get them first so you can see how you like them?

CheMe2, did you mean the fringe on page 3 (http://www.pia-kansai.ne.jp/hairsalon/catalogue/fuka35.html)? There are 16 pages, many with fringes, making it difficult to tell which one you meant.

Thank for the reply!

Sorry, very busy week, couldn''t check back here sooner.

Hi HD-EU. I showed the picture on that link you posted ( http://www.pia-kansai.ne.jp/hairsalon/catalogue/fuka35.html ) to my sister & she said the bangs were still shorter. Here is the picture I originally tried to post...
http://www.pia-kansai.ne.jp/hairsalon/search/osa45.html
The small picture of the girl on the left.

HOWEVER, the rest of her hair is too short! Sister said the people she see''s wearing these short bangs wear the rest of their hair longer on the sides.

Anyway, it''s hard to tell but I think I''m getting an idea.

Btw, Hal, my sister has super long hair, no bangs, so she won''t be cutitng it for awhile. But she has been trying some baby bangs, lol.

Well, to me, that woman's hair seems a bit unbalanced , even being the length it is, so I think it would be hard to make it look good with even longer hair ^_^; . Those are the sort of bangs one would expect on a Mia Farrow-ish pixie more than long hair. But if you can make them work, go ahead. *shrugs* If they look silly, they'll grow out to a more manageable length in a couple of months, anyway.

There is a yahoo group called "shortbangs" that is full of great pictures to give you some ideas. Personally I love super short bangs, cut almost to the top of the forehead, straight across. Bangs like that look so good in a nice straight bob, with a center part, and the length on the sides about mid ear, with the nape shaved.

I don't see the yahoo group called "shortbangs", I wish I could find it. I did find something & the photos in that group showed a short bang w/long sides & it looked a bit too funky for me. There were also a bunch of "xxx" photos, but oh well.

I plan to cut my hair like this and I have long hair. I saw a photo today of Portia Rossi that had them and thought they were adorable. She had longer hair (not as long as mine). Very cute.

I think that you should get a cut that makes you happy, not that others approve of. I plan to cut these myself (ex hairdresser) and I think they would look best cut with a razor and then "slivered" a bit.

They are called Micro Bangs. I had just cut my wifes as such. You are correct by either razor into the bangs or point cut. The underneath bangs are cut shorter then what the top layers are
