Here it is folks! I had about 8 inches cut off this morning. It was very liberating! I think I'll like it once I get used to it, but we may need to tweak the style a bit. Overall it feels great - definitely off of my face! Yea!!!
Thanks for your support and suggestions!

You look beautiful! You could tweak it by going shorter to a pixie, you would look adorable in a pixie, but you also look great the way you are. A nice improvement.
You look fantastic, Jill. Terrific choice of cut too. You could go shorter if you wanted to, you do have the face for it, no doubt. But that is up to you.

Thanks for all the kind words! I'm surprised the number of people who suggested shorter. Who knows what I'll end up doing, but I doubt that I'll be growing it out any time soon!
I can't believe the difference in my hair. I reached a couple of times yesterday to pull it out of a pony tail! Then I tried to squeeze the water out after showering. Then I realized that it didn't even need to be combed after my shower. Weird! :)
I styled it for the first time today, and I think it's going to take some time to figure it out. Mousse, gel, wax and spray. I've never had so much crap in my hair! But I also can't believe the volume I can get!!! It's always been so heavy so it would only lay flat on my head. I think I'm going to like it once I work out the syling kinks. Any tips would be appreciated,
Thanks again for the nice comments! Have a good day!
Keep in mind this is short hair board. There are many of us that sort of get stuck on a particular style and think every woman should have it. I've not doubt noticed the pixie crowd. The style you have happens to be one of my personal favs, thus my hope you keep it as it is. Is this your first time being short? How short have you been in the past? Family and friends like it as much as we do?

This is the shortest I've been since my pixie at 6 years old! (I hated it then and never forgave my mom.) I have no problem with pixies now, but I'm not going that way at this point.
My two kids hate my new 'do, but kids just hate change. My two year old actually said that it looks silly! I'm sure that they'll both get used to it in a few days and forget that it was ever long.
My husband says he likes it a lot. However, he's so supportive, he wouldn't say otherwise. He just wants me to be happy. Isn't that great?!
Your Haircut looks Great! :-) I had below the shoulder length hair last summer and when I got it cut to a short spiked do my 2 daughters said that they didn't like it, but then everyone else around me kept giving me compliments and to this day (even today) someone said how they liked my hairstyle. haha Now ofcourse my daughters are used to it now. haha So give your kids time, they will become so used to seeing you with your new do that they will forget what you looked like with longer hair. haha Glad that you took the plunge and went shorter, it looks good on you. Way to go! I just did the same type of thing last month. I am a 30 year old stay at home mom and after the unexpected death of my dad, I was ready for a change, and wanted something simple. I had hair almost all one length except for some bangs. I have gone to the same stylist for many years so she knew me well, and knew that I could probably handle the big change. So she didn't have to color all the extra hair, she pulled it back into a loose ponytail in the back and asked if I was sure several times. I said "Let's go for it!" In a matter of seconds, she had choppped it off, and showed me the 7 plus inches that she took off. My only regret is that I didn't wait a little longer so I could have donated it to Locks of Love. I had blonde highlights and low lights put in and cut it just a little shorter than yours pretty similar to the style you choose. I took in pictures of Reba from a couple of years ago and Meg Ryan's short style. I love it and my husband says that he loves it too. I think I will keep it short it is so easy to take care of.
