Well, I've lived with my new cut for about two weeks...I'm so glad I did it, but I need to fine-tune the 'do. I don't think that the flippy thing is working for me. Too trendy, maybe? Anyway, I'm thinking of something like this:

(Thanks to loveshort&blonde for the idea!)

Let me know what you think. Any other ideas are also welcome!

The flippy thing is not for everybody. I think you would look better in the style you posted today.

Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?

Could you not get that style just by turn it under rather than flipping it out. I really like the length o fyour hair now...sexy!

Hi Jill...

I think the new style you're considering would look great! Will you be doing the same color combo as well? What is your time frame?

Do you still have the original before pic?

Good luck.

I don't know if turning it under would get it to that style, as the ends are all chippy and stuff. Wouldn't they have to be more even to work? Probably would help to talk to a stylist and see what exactly the difference is between the styles, and what it would take to get it like this new one.
More awesome than a manatee!

Thanks for the feedback!

I was checking out my hair last night after showering, and the front can look very similar to the cut I posted. However, I think the part behind my ears (the flippy part) will be too long; it just wants to flip. I'll probably just live with this cut until I really *need* another because I can't afford to go back yet! That will give me some time to think...

As for Arch's question about color - I do color my hair to cover grey, but it's very close to my original color. I've had suggestions of highlights, but honestly, I just can't afford the upkeep. I would consider at-home highlights, but I'm terrified of messing up! I could just go a bit lighter, especially because the products I'm using darken up my hair. Any thoughts there?

Thanks, y'all.

I called and got in this morning to talk with my stylist, and she ended up giving me a full-on cut! Having said that, it is basically the same style, but a bit shorter and thinned out around the through the back and on the sides. It's a bit shorter in the back, too. I think I'll like it better, and it will give me time to think about whether to go for the Heidi Collins-type cut.

I'll try and upload a new pic but I'm not sure how well it turned out.

Have a great day!

Hi Jill,
Could you have someone take a picture
of the back of your head so we could see
how its cut in the back?
Your hair looks good cut like that!
Personally I don't like the flippy part on the ends
of "MY" hair so I have mine cut shorter in the back
also.

This picture unfortunately doesn't show my hair too well at all. I will post a picture of the back... but my husband's out of town this week, so it may be a bit. Today, the back is still flippy, just shorter flips. I'm going to try to tone it down tomorrow!
