Curling hair in the back

Well, one way to do this task it by simply holding up a piece up high and curling it that way, but that only works for long hair. The way i do it when i curl mine (i have shoulder length hair) is by turning my head to the side and and taking either the same or oppisite hand (which ever is more comphortable) and then curling it. then i turn my head to the other side when i want to curl it. if u have layers, the seperate the layers by putting them up in clips and starting from the bottom.
