Hi Amber.

I just wanted to say that for someone who has had all that stuff done to your hair, you have pretty good looking hair.

I know it's hard to get a really good idea from a photo but I see good hair.

I'm sorry to hear about the breakage. Perhaps some sort of conditioning treatment could help out?

What products are you using?

I realize that today is now saturday so there is a chance that you've already been to the salon.

I hope it went ok.

I agree with Amanda that you might want to hold back on the blow drying a bit. I know that means you won't have straight hair but would you rather have good hair that isn't breaking or would you rather have straight shorter hair that won't get longer?

I'm sorry you are in that situation. It's a shame that you have to deal with that.

Have you started using combs without seams on them?

Do you brush your hair when it's wet? Or anything like that?

I hope we can help you.

If it's not too late?

Please don't give up, Amber! You are stunning, and your hair is nearly at BS length. You have "fine" textured hair. Could I suggest you using a curling iron on the ends until your hair reaches mid-back? Some of your locks curl like a baby's. Much of this "problem" will vanish when you get closer to mid-back. The extra weight will take care of the uneven curls. But you have to get there. Don't stress; it's already cool looking. It will only get prettier as time moves on. Good luck, Bob

Howdy neighbor!

I really believe you should lay off the brushing/straightening/blowfrying.
I think that if you truely want to have long, healthy hair, you shouldn't punish it.

It sounds like you need protein too! Try getting the Aphogee stuff at Sally Beauty Supply

http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/product.asp?pf%5Fid=670510&dept%5Fid=1215

I have read great things about it! (it stinks- but is worth it )
Be sure to follow up with a good deep moisturizing conditioner

Also, invest in a satin pillowcase and a seamless or wooden comb!

HTH!

Hi AmberJune,

I posted a reply on the "General Hair Talk" board, since that's where I first saw your inquiry.

Thank you for your compliment!

Nope, don't think my bag is the case...I wear it on the left side. .... the side that grows longer!!

As for wearing my hair up... I kinda hate wearing it that way because its so thin & my pony tail is next to nothing because my hair is so thin!! aggh!!

Thanks for your reply!!

Hello Amber June!

Lovely pictures, you are a very beautiful woman!

As for the hair, you seem to have one that will take some taking care of, in order to get it as long as you want. My sister has what looks exactly like yours (we´d call it typically swedish hair) and if she keeps touching it too much during the day (for example, trying to get the growing out bangs to stay behind her ears), it gets frayed and breaks. What about trying a gentle hairclip and a soft band to tie it up in the back while you wait for length?

I also think you should stay clear of the heaters: dryer and straighter and curlingiron and whatever. The side that keeps breaking for you, is it the side where you wear your bag? Shoulder straps can do damage.

I hope you get it just the way you like it. I have earmarked you page and will follow your progress! Good luck!

aww...well, thank you very much! I plan on taking pics every month....hopefully I can get some progress. My hair really hasn't gotten longer much in the last year...but thats due to me constantly having to get it trimmed/cut to straighten it up in the back. I wish my hair was thick....your a lucky one!! Thank you very much for your reply back!

You're very beautiful! I can tell you'll look awesome with long hair as well. Your hair is about the same length as mine now, and in a similar style. The only difference is my hair is dark brown and pretty thick. You should take pictures every month so you'll notice the progress and stay motivated. That's what I've been trying to do with my little webcam, or at least whenever I can remember.
