QuoteReplyTopic: need a hair cut. Posted: April 12 2001 at 1:00am
My hair is just past my shoulders. It is thick and wavy. Right now my cut is pretty boring. Ive had it the same for years. (middle part all the same lengh , usually tucked behind my ears. It looks messy if I dont blowdry it. Which is a pain in the ass. I want a look that is sophisticated, not messy and boring. Will layers make hair more wavy(that means more messy looking) I do want layers. What does getting your hair rounded mean? Also I dont want it too short and a bob would be too much of a hassleto straighten I think.
Go short! Pixie style if your brave enough. It`s only hair it will grow back. It will make it look straighter. Hope I helped! Let me know what you decide! email me at volleygurl143@gURLmAIL.com Thanx, Sarah
You need to go short, buzzed up the back of your nape and then leave the top long and feathered. You will love it even tho you don`t want to go short you should consider it. you need a drastic change and going short just might give you the excitement you need. try looking on Yahoo.com and type up teenhaircuts go to that sight and look at the tons of gorgeous short haircut styles they have posted, it might change your mind about going short. Thick hair looks so good short!!! Come on just even consider a short haircut, you might love it! E-mail me and tell me what you think G1R2E3 m4@aol.com

Why does she need to go short and need a drastic change. Some of you people make me sick with the pathetic "advice" you give. Al you want to do is try to make another girl get a haircut she doesn`t want so you can get off on the thought of her hair being cut off...SHAME...SHAME...SHAME.
Sorry about that! I actually have the exact same type of hair as you- thick, wavy, and uncontrolable if I don`t blowdry it. FOr years I kept cutting it short and having to blowdry it no matter what, until I finally made myself grow it out. I `m still growing it out now, and it`s about an inch or 2 past my shoulder. It`s so much easier to deal with now that its longer! I don`t have to blowdry it, or anything! Because my hair is longer, the wave is weighed down so it isn`t as messy or wavy. It`s so much nicer. If you really don`t like your wave and are sick of blowdrying it than I would maybe try growing it out! (By the way, yes layers will make it more wavy if your hair is short) LEt me know what you think! Hope I helped.
By the way messed (good name for yourself by the way) don`t ask for advice if you don`t want someones opinion and John can`t someone have a different opinion than you? I just told her what I thought might work! You got something to say: say it! Just count on a reply from me!
A pixie cut is too short. CAN YOU READ! I asked for opions from people that can give me suggestions other then what I said specifically what I dont want! You can waste your time answering me back with all your stupid ideas all you want. But it must be kinda hard to type your stupid messages while your other hand is stimulating your mom!!haha
Anyways,You are so right Adianna, I remember when it was long it was much straighter. It is now just past my shoulders. My hair dryer literally blew up the other day, so I guess thats a sign to quit! But as much as I try to grow it long I must cut as much and as often as possible because its so damaged from highlighting. Any ideas on thinning, rounding, layering or anything that would make my hair look less damaged. I am definatly going to try to get it long though.
It seems to me that you should color over your highlights with something close to your natural color. Then get a one length cut to remove the damaged ends. Then be really kind to your hair and let it grow grow grow.
I know that one length and color doesn`t sound very exciting but they are the best if you are trying to grow your out
Why don`t you use your waves to make a boring style exciting, maybe consider a perm to enhance your waves. Since you don`t want to go short try a chin lenght angled bob with short bangs. Layers would work if you get the right ones. There are differnt ways of layering and if the stylest doesn`t know how to work with thick wavy hair it won`t turn out right. Go to a stylist that specializes in your hair type and ask what they think you could do. Good luck,
I don`t think you have any room to talk. If you don`t want advice and you already have your mind set on something, why do you go to a message board. If you`re too dense to take the advice I suggest you find somewhere else to go! Good Riddance!!!
Bronnie had some good advice. You should try and get it back to your natural colour so that you don`t have to keep dying it. The main thing is that you want to get your hair healthy again. You should use some leave it conditioner regularly. Another thing is, you should try to stop blowdrying it so often. It`s hard! That really damages your hair. I think maybe you should try to work with your wave instead of against it. It might take a bit of getting used to. If you really do want to try and grow it out, and keep some of your length, then I think if you got about half an inch to an inch cut off to get rid of some of the dead ends, and then maybe some long layer to help get rid of even more dead ends, that would work. You would beable to keep a lot of the length, but the layers, etc help to clean up and fix the dead ends. I really think you should just try and go with your wave. Tell your stylist about your hair texture, and that you want the cut to suit your hair type. You can use hair products for curly hair and let your hair air dry . Like I said, it just takes a bit of getting used to. By the way, I`m not trying to force you into anything you don`t want, ( unlike some of the other creeps on this board) it`s just a suggestion. Let me know what you think, or if there`s anything else I can help ya with!
