Hi, I am not really familiar with bleaching my own hair... I have done many colors at a salon but only two at home that I didn`t even use bleach.. My question is what household product can I use? And like when you talk bleach do you mean laundry bleach or what? lol.. Anyway, I hope someone can answer cuz I wanna go serious platinum and I have brown hair.... :)

kat, if you want the best results for going platinum, I would recommend having your hair done professionally at a salon. Now if that is financially impossible, then I suggest going to your local sally Beauty Supply. They`ll have the bleach, toner, and other products you`ll need. Good luck.

In case you decide to do your roots at home, make sure you don`t use household bleach. It won`t do much to lighten your hair but it will completly fry it.

Use powder bleach and peroxide (Jerome Russell does a really good bleaching kit). If you get the right strength and use it properly you shouldn`t get any more orange hair :)

Hope your hair turned out nice in the end!

Jood is absolutely right....you REALLY don`t want to use laundry bleach on hair (glad to hear you went to a salon!) I cut off a strand of my own hair once and put it in a cup of bleach just to see what would happen--thought maybe it would turn my brown hair blonde perhaps.) I came back in a few minutes and the hair was completely GONE. The bleach had dissolved it entirely. Imagine what that would be like if you actually applied bleach to your head!

And how did it turn out?
