My hair is thick and wavy. I was thinking about getting it thinned. How do they thin it and does it show like layers or something?

they use a thinning sheers basically they just take a scissors and hold clump oh hear and just pass it (slightly closed) through the chunk moreless cuttin sum of the strands short of course it is soo little that u don't notice it as a actual short hairstyle(if im confusing u just let me know) it give an apperance of frizz though cause of the short strands being all over ur hair as a result of thinning... it's really up to u whether or not u want to do it. i tried it on my medium thickness hair but my problem was volume not thickness i have sooo much volume and i hate it so i thinned it to get rid of it my hair felt thinner but it didn't look any thinner. hope this helps

I feel for ya with the hair. mine is totally thick also. try long layers. it totally thins it out and makes it look thinner.

i'd recomend tog et your hair stylist to use a razor instead of thinning scissors. i used those on my hair n it leaves short hairs all over your head and it gets really messed up if u do it too close to the skull...now i hafta wait for my whole head to grow back evenly....use a razor

razors aren't good for your hair it can cut your hair to bluntly and cause breakage, dryness and split ends

dont get it trimmed. it ends up crappy, its best to keep hair uniform length. I had mine thinned recently - the barber just did it, without asking.

and now i have short hairs and you can see and feel them, they're very annoying.
