Man, I'm the only guy here in this town that's tryin different stuff with his hair, sideburns, etc. Man, other kids are too afraid.. They would never grow their hair longer. Hahahaa, I'm so different and it makes me feel damn proud.
I live out near the coast and there is long hair everywhere. Some people have been growing it since they were young, and there are little boys running around the beach with more length than me.
There is a trick to telling if that person with the long blond hair is a guy or a girl: check for a bikini.
What's strange is that if you go inland a bit, no one has it.

I've been called a member of the Beatles before...imagine the horror, but that was a long time ago. Thankfully the hairdresser gave me some spray gel stuff that is quite strong, and flattens most of the wings stuff down.
hey. i'd just like to add that the style you seem to be wanting is really cool, unless you flatten it down too much, then it just looks greasy, i.e. busted (who i hate with a passion) just my opinion. anyway stick with it long. Happy growing the goat
Thanks for the encouragement guys :) I suppose you're right about the hair, I do wear a cap quite often, or I use lots of gel and almost plaster my hair to my head, although it's not a gr8 look. Another problem is that I seem to have these bits that stick up at the back like 'wings' that look just stuuupid, lol.
Hey man, I know exactly what you're going thru. I'm in the same situation as you.
I starter growing my hair 2.5 months ago. I started out with nothing, 1cm hair and now my wig's gotten a lot longer.
And I have wavy hair too, so... The hair on top gets big. It doesn't wanna lay flat, etc. I got hair stickin out in the back. Man, this **** is WHACK.
I'm gonna make it though. Few more months and I'll have my long hair. I'll experiment with different styles, etc. Ponytails, headbands.

This is me a month ago. Now, my hair is lots longer.
If you're trying to grow it out, you'll probably just have to put up with the "big hair" for awhile until it weighs itself down. Anyone growing out will experience so-called "awkward phases" in their hair growth. I had my awkward phase, for example, at around shoulder length, except my hair was layered (started with a half-pixie). so it was impossible to tie back. That's only one of many kinds of awkwardnesses.
Have patience (and wear a hat or bandana if you have to) ... your hair will grow in due time.
Hi I''m 18, male, live in UK. There''s a fashion trend now for guys having longish hair, that sort of comes down over eyebrows so far and also down the sides of the head almost to the shoulders (members of Busted & McFly are examples). I want this sort of look, but my hair is rather short at the moment. The problem is, I''m waiting for it to grow, but in the meantime I can''t style it because it gets so big on top and won''t go flat, and also at the back sides my hair sticks out and looks very odd. I''ve had razor lasers and highlights, but while I''m waiting for it to grow it looks awful, what do I do? Also, when I had it cut the hairdresser trimmed it at the sides and around ears but left my fringe to grow, should the sides also have been left to grow along with the fringe?
