I just got my hair cut and my mother forced me to cut my bangs about to just under the eye brow and I absolutely hate it! How long will it take for my hair to get shaggy and what should i do in the mean time?

Your hair, if it's average, will grow about a half inch (slightly over a centimeter) every month.

Some people would recommend that you take certain vitamins and eat healthy food. Those things are great for you, but I really don't believe they make your hair grow any faster. My best suggestion is to just keep your hair very healthy -- split ends and breakage require more trims. Although the average growth rate is 1/2" per month, some people have hair growth of an 1" per month (mine grows at about this rate). You may be lucky; your hair may grow faster than you expect it to. Just try to forget about it (I know it's easier said than done) and it will grow. Short bangs aren't a permanent condition. Even if your hair only grows 1/2" in a month -- your bangs will probably be past your eyes by this time next month.

Find a hobby you can do with your hands... Cover up the mirrors in your house... There are lots of things to do while waiting for your hair to grow.
and I borrowed this from Strawberryfine: Eat popsicles. It doesn't make your hair grow faster but it tastes good and kills time.

Hugs,
Anais

You can wear it back in headbands, or the bangs section up in one little clip over your forehead. I've seen the clip worn on actresses and in style magazines recently.

Or, go crazy on wearing hats and bandanas. I'm a hat collector and that's partly how I distracted myself from slow growth.

Biatin is supposed to help your hair grow. My room mate was taking that and he said he noticed a difference. And my friends and I have noticed that while taking melatonin to help our sleep, that our hair grows faster as well.

Sirius, I don't know if you're male or female.

If you're a girl -- I sometimes wear hair scarves (like the ones Nicole Richie wore in Simple Life 2). I think they look great with big hoop earrings. The scarf covers the front of your hair so your bangs wouldn't be an issue.

If you're a boy -- hair scarves probably aren't a good idea, but it's totally up to you.

I got my hair cut just below my jaw and I want it to be long not short. So how long do you think it will take before it grows out. Oh it has been uh......4 months before my last hair cut and now it is maybe 2inches under my shoulder. I want my hair to go to the back were an averge bra strape goes.

2" in 4 months? It sounds like your hair grows at the average rate -- about 1/2" per month. Just measure the distance between where your hair ends now and where you want it to be. On me, the distance between jaw line and bra clasp is about 11". With your rate of growth, it would take about 22 months to get 11" of growth. Just keep your hair healthy in the meantime. Preventing split ends means you can go without trims. You don't want to have to cut off any of the length because of split ends.
