QuoteReplyTopic: Just out of braids.... Posted: January 12 2000 at 1:50am
ok. to put this simply... I am 18 years old, and I have never really been able to take care of my hair. I had someone put braids in my hair so I wouldn't have do anything to it. I have had braids in my hair for going on five years. My hair is very, dry, thick, tangly, bushy...etc. You know... they very top of what is thought to be black hair. Next week, I will be getting my hair relaxed for the first time in about five years. Is there anything I can do to prepare my head and scalp for it, and are ther any particular shampoo's and conditioners that anyone could recomend for my hair??Thanks a lot

Dear Shannan,You may want to do some goood deep treatments before your scheduled relaxer. GO to your salon at least one week prior to your relaxer and get a deep conditioning treatment. this will ensure that your hair is healthy enough to take on the chemicals. There is one slight drawback some poeple have with this treatment. Especially healthy hair is difficult to permanently relax, be cause healthy hair fights the process so if you hair is it tip-top condition, the deep treatment idea may be better if done after you get your relaxer. I, myself, have been trying to go natural. It';s a rough road, Email me if you want...I may be able to suggest so hair products. Good luck!----Marsha :-)
