Jeff and Karen--This morning I read your message about some incendiary and phony posts on Hair Talk, but I wasn't sure which ones you meant until just now.Am I to understand that women getting their heads shaved is a popular perversion?!?!?!? I unwittingly followed a link to such a site--and was disgusted by what I saw. It seems the more frightened and unwilling the female subject is, the more this audience is turned on.I probably sound naive, but I never knew such a thing existed. Could there be connection between this deviant following and those who urge women to cut their long hair off?Appalled,Ally

Hi Ally,Yes...shaving heads is a very big thing. Also, just cutting hair and the very act of it or shaving it off is popular.Yes.....there may be a connection from last night's rash of "bogus" posts by one person posing as several....including a Karen. Many people "get off" on just stirring up trouble. They enjoy riling up people and causing anger, fighting and other behaviors. So they will "bait" a board by putting what seems like an innocent comment and then when people respond, use the reponses to post their own personal agendas. They will post photos and then use them as links to lure people to the sites they want you to see.Jeff and I traced a whole string of posts to the same IP address. I sent an email to the person with the NancyDrew email address and asked them to stop. I did not hear back and probably won't.Jeff and I really struggled with this whole thing. We do not want to censor this board. We love the way it just flows and there are so many warm, loving and helpful people that visit here.Yet we do not want the board to be dominated by people with their own agendas who are trying to coerce people into their belief system. We want people to be able to share their opinions about everything without baiting others. So we will continue to delete any posts that are inappropriate and appear to be baiting or bogus.Jeff and I would really appreciate any thoughts you or any of the other regular Hair Talk visitors might have on how to deal with these situations. We want to do the right thing.Karen> Jeff and Karen--> This morning I read your message about some> incendiary and phony posts on Hair Talk, but I> wasn't sure which ones you meant until just now.>> Am I to understand that women getting their> heads shaved is a popular perversion?!?!?!? Hey Ally and Karen,I didn't see the posts last night but like you Ally I'm kind of niave. I've been raised in a Christian home and both myself and my husband are devout Christians. There are some things that are better left unseen in my opinion! Thanks for taking a stand Karen. This is a great site and people who aren't interested in mantaining a certain level of indecency should take it to one of the sites that supports their interests. I work for an ISP called Grid USA / Loclnet near Charlotte, NC. My father owns the company and has told the custumers that he has certain standards. If he notices that customers are accessing or supporting certain things like pornography and cultism he asked them to find another ISP. I really respect him for taking a stand and I respect a site like yours that takes a stand too!

Hi, Karen and Jeff,I feel that you have handled this situation and others like it very fairly. I can tell that you are both open-minded, caring, and accepting people. I trust your judgement.Regards, Clare> Jeff and Karen--> This morning I read your message about some> incendiary and phony posts on Hair Talk, but I> wasn't sure which ones you meant until just now.>> Am I to understand that women getting their> heads shaved is a popular perversion?!?!?!? I had my head shaved in college, but it was entirely my idea and I got sick of it and grew it out. However, while I support a woman's right to choose that of her own free will, as well as the right for women having chemo to see it as an alternative to wearing wigs, I think that any kind coercive pressure about hairstyles of any kind is just sick and wrong. Coercion and fear are totally out of line... whether in regard to hair or other parts of a relationship. I have to agree with Karen that it's not appropriate for this board... and I appreciate that the links have been deleted, because I follow this board pretty regularly and I doubt I would have liked to see that. :-P-jj
Hi Clare,Thank you so much for your support. I always worry that I am not being totally fair..so it is so nice to get feedback. Thank you so much. As I see it your hair boutique is about hair. I guess I see it another way. I seen it as a hair boutique so how does one comb bald hair etc. It is about short hair and long hair and the passion of hair.
